Just a few questions, I have sold a couple page kits on ebay but am really a newbie in that area! I have only listed on ebay.ca but do you think it is better to list on ebay.com in terms of getting more views/exposure? Or if you list on one does it show up on the other? I have never checked that out and I currently don't have anything listed! Also is anyone aware of any ebay/scrapbooking yahoo groups? I did a search but only came up with a very short list and it was just groups to advertise your auctions-I was think something more along the lines of a place for ebay scrap creations, tips, hints ect chat! If there isn't one I think I will start a group! Okay one last question-do you keep track of people who bought from you and email them when you put something new up for auction or would that be to forward/pushy??? Lots of questions hey! I have 6 more pp page kits I am going to put up so I want to figure everything out!
Thanks

Hi Grover-

Sorry it took me so long to get on here and reply, but I was actually posting my Ebay stuff tonight. I don't know anything about ebay.ca but I have seen quite a few paper piecings for sell where they seller's location is in Canada. I don't know if you list on one if it automatically lists on the other or not. The only ebay I have experience with is ebay.com I know there are a couple of other scrapbooking auction sites called:

www.scrapbookauctions.com

The Scrapbook Auction: http://scripts.cgispy.com/auctions/auction.pl?user=scrapbookauction

Yahoo Scrapbook Auctions: http://auctions.yahoo.com/44739-category-leaf.html

There was one called Magnolia Memories, but I can't seem to find it.

Again, the only one I have ever used is ebay.

I do keep track of who buys from me, but only so I have the shipping information and can keep everything straight. My DH set up an excel program to track all of my auction stuff. I basically keep track of it so I have the buyers email and address in case ebay is down or whatever. Between my paper piecings and his golf clubs every week, it gets confusing. I put new stuff on every Sunday night, and end every Friday night. I don't email the past to let them know I'm putting new stuff up, I do however get lots of "questions" from Ebayers or re-orders for auctions they missed, etc... and I always let them know I when I respond to their emails that I have items up for auction. There are also several "swap and ad boards" like www.jangle.com where I usually post that I have items up for bid on the first day, and then a reminder on the day the auction closes.

Hope that answers a few of your questions. Feel free to PM me anytime.

Good Luck on your auctions! Let me know your "user name" so I can see them!

Candi-Thanks for all the info! I have several sets ready to go but it will probably be a few days at least until I get to post them. My user name on ebay is scrappinggrover. I do belong to a couple of other scrap yahoo groups for Canadians where they allow you to post your ads one day a week. I think I will also keep track of names addies-you never know when you computer or ebay may decide to act up and I wouldn't want it to cause any delays. I think people really appreciate my promptness in sending things out! You've been a great help-Now I gonna go and try and check out your auctions! Have a good day!

Grover-

Thanks a bunch. The secretary at Murri's school has the Children Are poster in her office. I thought it was a nice take on an ABC set.

Hi, sorry I missed this post somehow! Looks like most of your questions have been answered, but if you have any more post them and I'll check back here later. As far as the Canada thing, you might try using just Ebay.com, as long as you are willing to ship to the states. I usually have the Canadians add $1 to the shipping I list for the states to help cover the extra postage.

I used to list my auctions weekly on 20 yahoo groups and I did see increased hits on my auctions, but it was very time consuming to do that, and I always felt like people would get sick of me listing my auctions lol! I made the "about me" page and I would just send the link to that as it lists all your auctions there too.

If you want to have an email list to send your auctions to (past buyers) you should just email them at the close of your auction with your payment information, and give them a link to click on or have them reply to your email if they want to be on your mailing list, that way they have the option to say yes or no and you are "spamming" them, which ebay frowns on. I have had several people ask me if I wanted to be on their mailing list, but I don't usually want to, if I like a seller, I'll just put them in my favorites and then check their auctions when I feel like it.

Hope that helps a little :)
