Since it seems a large number of the current posts on this board are dealing with the current storm, a pointless question comes to mind.

I'm about to go out and shovel our driveway for the third time this morning. I shoveled about four times last night before I went to bed.

What I was wondering is this:
Would you rather shovel 20 inches ONE time? Or do you use the system I do and would rather shovel ONE INCH, Twenty times?

I may shovel frequently but it goes quickly. Plus, going out there and seeing all that square footage is too disheartning when there's massive depth involved.

When we get big snows here, I prefer to snowblow about 4 or 5 inches as often as necessary. It is easier dealing with the 'where do I put it all' question.

i prefer to kiss kevin on his way out and start a pot of coffee for him. :teeth:

Little bits at a time - if it too 'high' the snowblower can't deal with it - or the shovel gets too heavy to lift

I prefer to do a few inches at a time. I did about 8 inches at once on Saturday and it hurt!!! I did a few inches once yesterday and I was fine. If tghe snow lightens up a bit, I will go out soon and get rid of the inch or so that has fallen since my DH left for work as well as the 5 or inches that he didn't get to this morning. We don't have a snowblower so there is no way I'd do it all at once again!

I have 4 teenage boys here at my house right now who will be shoveling:)

was to get a Ryder/U-Haul truck, pack up all your belongings, sell your house, and

MOVE TO FLORIDA!

That's what we did 13 years ago and haven't had to worry about shoveling ever since!

Well, I shoveled about 8 inches last night at 7pm in order to take my dog outside. It was light and fluffy and no big deal! :)

The path I shoveled last night was covered with a drift that was up to my armpits! I had to go out another door and walk around to that door, through more drifts, just to get a tiny path shoveled. It's very heavy now too because of all the sleet mixed in.

What I'm hoping to do is pay some money for someone else to come over to do all the shoveling after the snow stops. :p

Usually I just shovel it all when it stops. I put a good CD on my Discman and take my time. :)

I knew there HAD to be at least ONE Floridian to comment on not having to shovel.

:D

So far I've shoveled about nine times. Four times last night and Five times this morning. I'm wiped out! I can't imagine what it would have been like doing it all at one time.

Time for a class break at the L.I.O.A.C.S. (If you know what that is, GREAT! And if not there's little point in trying to explain)

We like to shovel every couple of inches. I can't believe all this snow we have. I wanted snow but not sure if I wanted this much.

My technique is to watch television until the sun comes out and melts it off. . ;)

:teeth:

Run electrical cord to 8 hp snowblower, turn on choke, push start button.
18"? No sweat :)

DUCK!!! :p

That's I feel Chicago got missed this storm! We ducked! ;)

It's pretty unusual that Chicago gets missed but, that's ok, really!

I tend to shovel in shifts. Get it while I can. I did get burned one storm by doing that, though. When I went to sleep, the drifts were worse than the job I had completed. :( And, NO snowblower here, good ole shovels. AND, for that, I actually DO have a routine/technique. ;) (Besides sending my teenage DS to do it!) :)

Melting {{HUGS}} to all the snow-sufferers!! :sunny:
