Yep.. you heard me right - Snow Pet Peeves..

What are yours?

DH Obi-Wan was just complaining about how the plows show up in the subdivision 3 days after the storm and take the nicely compacted snow on the road and dig it into foot tall piles that you have to dig your car out of.

How about you?

The big hunks of snow and ice that form in your wheel well. Then when you turn your wheels it sounds like something is breaking on your car!

This isn't snow related, but winter related. I hate black ice! Makes for a slow drive in to work.

Listen to this one, on Monday night they issued snow emergencys around us, we were thought to get 6-12 inches in some areas. But alas, the weather men were wrong, go figure, so one of the nearby cities apparently didnt keep themselves updated on the weather, which by about 1130pm had been downgraded considerably. ( I know in my city the SE light was lite by 6 pm) They went on to issue $50.00 tickets to over 3000 cars and towed over 200. Needless to say, the next morning city hall was bombarded with angry ticket holders. Thank god for driveways. I would have been steamed!

Skiers who stop in the middle of the road to put chains on!!! They dont pull OFF the road so others can get by, so here you are stopped on a hill (icy), in traffic, going either up or down the mountain. You have to stop and wait for them to figure out HOW to put the chains on, and then wait for them to get the chains on, which usually ends up they have to get someone else to put them on because they never can figure out how to put them on. Go figure...

or the roof!

We live in a housing complex with assigned parking. Last year when we had the big snow over the Presidents Day weekend I had to go out and shovel the car out first thing in the morning. Now mind you I had just had feet surgery to remove my bunions and could not really wear boots or shoes yet. So I stuffed my swollen feet into a pair of Timberland boots to shovel and boy was it painful. Since DH works 11pm - 7am it had snowed the night before and I had to shovel, well someone parked in my parking space when I got home and did not move the entire weekend, I was flamed to say the least  I left them a nice note on their car. I could have been really mean and had their car towed. When DH came home he was flamed and was on a all weekend vigual to find out who parked in my parking space. Usually parking in my parking space does not bother me but since the person who parked in my parking space was visiting a neighbor, my neighbor should have told him to park else where since HE nor his wife shovel a parking space out for them. Our neighbors do not speak to us this day because of that. But I do not care. When his brother comes to visit he doesn't park anywhere near our space, I guess we got our point a cross.

When the kids one street over bring their quads and snowmobiles through my beautiful snow covered field. It looks so pretty until they do that. I don't begrudge them their fun, but not in my yard please! Every summer I end up with more ruts in my field from the winter riders.

Also, those people who insist on hitting their brakes constantly on bad roads. Arrggggg!!!

It's cold - relatively anyway- we had ice last Sunday and NO SCHOOL the entire week???!!!!!!!! I guess its because the backroads - lots of 'em - are dangerous for the busses. We've now used all our snow days plus 2 so we're heading towards no Spring break. Grrrrrrrrrrr

The snow plow trucks! I know it is necessary, but the sound of the plow scraping against the road at 3am really gets to me. Plus the yellow safety light going, it keeps me awake until they are done.
Add to that, the street off of our driveway becomes a dead end two houses down, so half the time the snow plow guys don't even bother! And when they do, they plow the snow into my drive.....
I had to dig out my drive three times since yesterday. Once after it snowed, then this morning because a three foot high wall of snow had been pushed there by the trucks. I also snow shoveled the street so I could get my van out because they didn't plow the street any further.
Then this afternoon they did come and plow and left another wall of snow in my drive!

Not getting any......................

Snow, I mean. We seldom get any here in NW Louisiana.

I hate it when people wear their outdoor shoes indoors. My office (with brand new carpet) looks like a mud pit from everyone coming in with muddy shoes.

I also hate it when there is snow on the roads and the plow trucks dump sand and salt on it instead of plowing it. The sand and salt just makes things all snotty and slippery. At least the snow will give you some traction.

I also hate it when people who have four wheel drive vehicles think they can drive like maniacs in all conditions. Let me clue you in, four wheel drive will not help you when the road is glare ice.

Finally how about those dummies who get going up a hill and can't make it up all the way? You have to get a running start so everyone behind you has to back down the hill as well.

Boy, you'd think I had some experience driving in winter weather. It doesn't take long for someone living in Vermont to become a veteran.

Yes but don't forget it makes the frozen dog poop so easy to pick up!! I love that, the little things make me happy.

No snow to report on:( Would love to tho:(

Anyone got some they can spare??? Bottle it up & send it our way please:D

I'm with Deb and Nutsy. Here in the TN valley we're "snow-free". If a couple of flakes fall, everyone makes a mad dash for the bread store and school gets cancelled. (Although we did get fooled when we got hit with a HUGE blizzard in March of '93)
