I'm in the early planning stanges of my wedding on 6/19/11 in Disney! I've seen some pictures on this blog where some brides used Disney snow globes as centerpieces. I really like the idea, and I was wondering if you used your own collected pieces. If not, how did you get them? Were they an option to "rent" for the day or did you buy them beforehand?

you are better of buying a simple but elegant globe. kinda customary for guest to take home the center pieces. Also possiblity of breaking is high so best not to use something you really care about. You also need to look as to how you are planning to use these globes. On a platform with a flower wreath, just by themseleves etc.

platform with a wreath probably get away with globe 3-4 inches with some candels.
be pretty sweet looking.

did some looking online but not sure what kinda snow globes you are looking for.
20-40 dollar range seems accurate.

instead of candels could use mini led spots on battery power.

good luck to you

wondering if you did this and if so, what it looked like?

We saw this idea on the boards as well, and we plan on doing it too. I have several large Disney snowglobes that I've collected over the years that I plan on transporting and using. They are at my mom's house so she might be the one transporting them. My fiance already knows/plans on putting small signs next to the CPs saying "Please do not take this home." :rotfl:

hope to see some photos of the tables.

I asked my planner about this and if you are having an in-park reception you have to rent snowglobes through Disney so they renting is definitely an option. I think because most guests of the wedding are travellers and staying in a hotel, not as many of them will think taking the centerpieces home is appropriate.

I've recently read signs in the airport saying that snowglobes are not allowed in carry-on luggage. They violate the 3 ounces of liquid rule.

So if anyone is bringing them, they'd have to go in checked luggage. But that definitely increases the chance that they will break, especially in the cold and with rough baggage handling.

Perhaps shipping them would be the best option? I know that all through the park, if you buy a snowglobe, they offer shipping.

We are driving from Kentucky and are not having an in-park wedding so I hope everything all goes well! :goodvibes

What a great idea! I never would have thought to do that and such a neat concept because you have them for yourself afterwards.
