I came across a press release today from WDW. In it they are talking about
everything that will be going on at WDW this holiday season. In the press release it
says, "Beginning Nov. 29, 2002, festive parades, twinkling lights and even snow
flurries debut in the resorts and theme parks across the Vacation Kingdom." Know
I know they have snow on main street for the christmas season. I also read where
they will also have snow on the MGM/Disney Studios back lot but this is the first I
have seen about snow at the resort hotels. Does anyone know more? Is this
correct? I'm thrilled about the prospect of it! I'll be staying at the WL this Dec. with
a courtyard view and it gives me goose bumps thinking out standing on my balcony
at the WL watching the nightly snow fall. Please someone confirm this for me!

Haven't heard of it myself but would sure look forward to it if it's true. We're not doing MVMCP so would be a great opportunity for 4 yr old dd to see snow (even if it's the "make believe" kind)...It'll be quite some time before she'll ever see real snow, this would be cool!!

Excuse my ignorance. I have never been in Dec. They actually have a fake snow fall? If so, why? I go to WDW in Feb to get away from the snow. I would not want to go and see fake snow ever. If you want snow go north.

This is what the quote says -

"Beginning Nov. 29, 2002, festive parades, twinkling lights and even snow
flurries debut in the resorts and theme parks across the Vacation Kingdom."

I don't think that means that it will be snowing at the resorts. It just lists some things that will be happening - some in the resorts and some in the parks. The "festive parades" don't happen in the resorts either.

If you think about it, there's no way they could make it snow in most of the resorts and still keep up the theme. For instance, snow at the Polynesian or the Animal Kingdom Lodge would be really out of place.

I bet it will be just like in the past - the only place you will see the snow is on Main Street during the Christmas party and at MGM during the Osborne Lights display.

I'm with you, those people in the South just don't understand how bad snow really is. LOL

I would love to see some snow at Disney...... I have seen it at MVMCP!

I see plenty of snow up here, trust me. But I am also excited to see the snow at MK. It just isn't christmas without it! I can handle a little fake "snow" as long as it isn't bitterly cold, also.

If the fake snow is anything like what they use at Disneyland, lets just say the song "tiny bubbles" comes to mind. Don't get me wrong I loved seeing it, almost brings a tear to my eye watching it and listening to the christmas music in the background.

I don't like snow!...I really detest snow!!...Just the thought of snow in the coming months disgusts me!!! BUT...snow at WDW is magical. The softly falling snow, music, and overall atmosphere is wonderful. ...and best of all it's still Florida-it melts quickly, and I don't have to drive in it!

The snow in CT is very nasty stuff! But the snow at WDW is great and I can't wait to see it again at Osborn lights! Faux Flordia snow is the only kind i like!

I couldn't have said it better myself!

I guess they'll try to add some atmosphere by creating "bubble snow" which would be cute.

No real snow though, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I live in New York State, and when I see the first snow flakes, I find it depressing !!! At WDW, of course, it is different. It is actually soap flakes, and nothing collects on the streets to make it slippery. It is really beautiful !! Just don't try to catch them in your mouth !

For all of you who are trying to get away from the snow...just think if you come across snow at WDW...YOU don't have to shovel it!:teeth:

How true that is!

If you can't handle snow fake or otherwise, don't come...that easy:p

Just more room for thoughs of us who will be enjoying the heck out of it. Besides I do belive the snow part only comes in if your going to Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party at the MK.

P.s We live in Lake Tahoe California... we have lot's of snow.

I love that idea...faux snow!! I am so excited that we are going to be at Disneyworld this year for the pre-holiday season! Snow here in Iowa is a four-letter-word, but I just know it will be magical at WDW!
