Hello , My name is Jenn and to quote everyone else here "I LOVE all things Disney. This will be my first trip report so where this goes... well ?

We live in Maryland and own a dog kennel , it is a great job to have. My dogs ( Rottweilers , who think they are lap dogs:goodvibes ) are like my kids, and being able to work them is very rewarding, but a full time endeavor . DH is in sales , so we are both constantly on the go. We have three wonderful grown human :lmao:children DD 25 , DD 24 , DS 20 and two DGSs 1 1/2 qnd 2 1/2 ( can not wait to take them in November) .Life is never dull.

I am going to try and insert pictures , hoping I can do it right .

I have already said we love:lovestruc Disney, Epcot is our favorite park and Beach Club our favorite resort, which led us to buy into DVC. We go at least twice a year , November being the big family trip (24 of us) and then in the spring. We did New Years in 2008/2009 and it was to crowded for us.
The November trip DH and I come down a day ahead of the rest of the family to enjoy our favorite festival Food & Wine together. We have a great family , but when they get to The World caos will happen when trying to do it all together with 24 people:scared1:.Thank goodness for F&W a nice glass of wine can really aid in restoring my frazzled self:goodvibes. I will probably use this for May trip and November trip, that is always a good tale to tell.

I am a warm weather gal! I could not live any farther north than I already do. I feel for those of you that have had to deal with this winter so far...I could not. As I have mentioned we have a kennel and we board and groom other peoples dogs as well as having our own group , so snow and ice are BIG pain in the ***. We have to always be shoveled , plowed and salted. This past storm (1/26) I was soooo happy when I woke up and saw heavy rain that I called and teased my DD 24 because they were getting sleet up her way...fate got me. That evening at about 4 pm said rain turned to sleet , which turn to ice , which turned to snow at about 5/5:30 pm:scared1: I start to shovel and am feeling like I am making progress ( We have a verrry long driveway and parking area) until I turn around and the area where I have shoveled is now again covered in snow:eek:, talk about two steps forward and three steps back. Three hours later DH and I are still in this vicious circle of shovel and back again for more shoveling. The snow we received was very wet , we have 80 + foot black pines that line our driveway, huge Holly trees and a wooded back side off the property we are now hearing alot of cracking and creaking noises:rolleyes1 and then very loud snap :scared1:. The branches/limbs on these pines in my opinion are not branches but small to medium sized trees in their own right.I started to feel like I was in a bowl of Rice Crispy with Snap,Crackle and Pop. Time to go in and dread the AM , not to mention it is now 11:30 pm.
Well needless to say there will be very little sleep for this chicky, time to start thinking WARM HAPPY THOUGHTS! Then maybe I can fly... :tink:

I am now inside my warm home hoping something akin to the witch in The Wizard of Oz does not befall me in the way of a very over grown pine over my home.

POWER IS STILL ON along with INTERNET:banana: Very Warm Brightly colored Disney princess long johns and fuzzy slippers on:love: Kitt Katt and milk:cloud9:Disboards up:surfweb: time to lurk and plan( rubbing hands together and giggling at this point). The following is prior to all the snow and how the cold, wet snow filled night became very warm.

The 9th of January was my 40 something birthday, well as you now know fate has a sense of humor and gifted me the warm weather gal here with a cold weather birthday. I DO NOT WANT IT!!! So that fact being said I have officially moved my 40 something Birthday to May 9th...take that fate.DH wants to do some sort of trip to celebrate, maybe Cancun with DBiL and DSiL...nope do not want Cancun. We were there last January (windy and chilly) and after you have done some over priced excursion that we have done before you are bellied up to one of the many bars..wondering what to do next.

princess: It is my Birthday and I am going to DISNEY WORLD!!:cheer2:

DH wants to do the same thing, we have DVC points, we have APs and air travel is there! Whoo hooo. Time to call MS.

The morning of the January 5th 9am I am on the phone to MS, waiting to book my week at BCV or BWV. I am on hold for about 30 mins give or take and then I here "Good morning, welcome home" my favorite thing to hear on the other end of the telephone. I give the nice CM all the need info and proceed to give her my dates....nothing at BCV or BWV :scared1: . DH and myself love Epcot , people watching and the beach. We are like to have lots to do , eat , drink and see... we enjoy sharing an appetizer at a a TS and enjoying all the shows from preforms and other Disney patrons. This is not good. I ask what do you have ( No SS ) , AKVs Sav. view. AK is our second favorite park , but the Villas are so far removed from everything and not alot of dining at the resort..beggars can not be choosers so we will take it. I book it and wait list BWVs Boarwalk view.

We are going to say good bye snow, cold weather and rain we are going to Disney!!

Now as you know I am now in my warm home with my computer lurking on the boards , looking at all the pictures people have posted for the day getting to the magical place in my head.

DH peers over my shoulder , I swear he is eyeing up my Kitt Katt and says "Have you checked the wait list?"
Myself "no , I doubt that anything has changed . It is to soon"
DH " you should check it, you never know"
Me, with a sigh " I will check, but I know it is not there"

I go over to the DVC site and click on vacation details prompt .... I need my glasses ... this can not be right! It came through ..BWV boardwalk view for the last 4 days, now just have to wait for the rest of them!!! :cheer2: I thought for sure the shoveling and cold weather had effected my brain and was causing wishful hallucinations. I do believe in Pixie Dust , I had asked for some on the boards and well lets here it for Pixie Dust!

PS- Forgot to mention said Kitt Katt magically disappeared.

We are going to be there the 4th thru the 12.. doing a split stay.. 4 nights CSR 4 nights at the Poly.. CANT WAIT!

WHoo Hooo:cool1: I can not wait either. Suellen is trying to get a Dis meet going for May 7th , Epcot World Showcase Italy. I am excited for that my first one.

Does anyone Know If the Ground Hog has seen his shadow? I am soooo tired of the cold and May can not get here quick enough. I book ME for us yesterday so all is ready as far as travel from BWI to our Happy Home, I just wish that they would allow you to bring pets ( not putting them in a kennel ) . I do own a kennel my dogs are used to it here (when they are done with me they actually go right in) but I can tell you that going to a new place would be stressfull on them. I tell my new clients all the time that they need to bring a blanket/towel/ t-shirt they have slept with and the dogs own food so that Scruffy can feel more secure ( blanket will have the owners sent and a change in food mixed with the stress of a new place can cause intestinal issues). My oldest Axel has separation anxiety and I worry about him. When we were in the World November 2009 we lost our Alex :littleangel:( she had thyriod issues at 8yrs and had a heart attack) Thank goodness for the caretakers I have and my Vet. Then when we returned home a week later our oldest Blitz (9 )who had been a Tripawd ( amputation of the right front leg) for a year due to bone cancer would have to:littleangel: the cancer had returned in his other front leg and shoulder he could no long get around and was in great pain. He would he would have been 11 yrs on Valentines Day. It was the saddest and hardest thing DH and I have ever done. I now worry all the time when we leave, four of my dogs are all older now and I could not handle the loss of another. I am sorry to get down but I have not really told anyone how anxious I get leaving home, most people think it is silly and say it is a dog not a human child, my dogs are my kids at least to me ( There are times when I like them muuucchh better than my real ones:confused3) and they give me their all and ask for nothing in return.
I am starting to tear up right now so I will come back later after some Theme Park Community pics.

Well here I am at 87 days:cool1:thinking about what I want to do.Dh and I are always on a schedule when at home and on vacation with the whole family, well we go to WDW we are like two 40 something kids in a candy factory:scared1:The trip we took together in June/July we would take every day as it came. Waking up around 9am and saying we are going here, lets go.The best thing we did was tacking on Friday to the trip, that way when were checked in and had the whole day on Saturday.we did this in November 2010 so we had so F&W time together before the rest of the family came down. It was wonderful to have the time to get ourselves settled in, I am trying now to see if this is possible this trip( getting a room at BWV and changing air.So here are my thoughts.

Day 1) Arrive May 7th at BWV around 10/10:30 am check ourselves and out to the boards for a much awaited view of our home resort BCV.
11:30 head over to WS Epcot for a couple of adult beverages, Dis meet ( not sure excact time or times for that) do Kim Possible mission. We have done this with the kids in the family an dbeen able to see bits and parts of a mission or two, I think it would be fun for just the two of us. From this point on in the day it is go with flow until we have our room.
Day 2) Wake up at normal time of 9 am hit FW Epcot and go on Soarin, all these trips and have never tried it ( the wait times :scared1:) Mission Space and see the Aquarium. Head back over to Ws and a few more missions with KP if we like the first one:confused3
From that maybe some wine and lite fare at Tutu Italia , that is a must do along with dessert dark chocolate in France for Illuminations.
Day 3) Thinking Hollywood Studios and some 50's prime time cafe for dinner, I really want to try the tuna casserol (spelling ?) Dh hates any food that has warm tuna fish in it may not be on my "try It" list. That being said maybe lunch there . Then back to the BW for a shower and change up for dinner at Flying fish.
Day 4) Early morning with AK petting zoo and lunch at Yak and Yeti ... Kobe Burger yummmy. I wish they still had the Pho on the menu that was great . Leave AK about 4 pm and head back to WS for some fun. I want to see the Monkey man in China.
Day 5) MK in the morning through mid afternoon, not much on the food there except the turkey legs ( have be careful when eating one of those due to the big and tall white birds, they are meat eaters:eek:) Then back to WS for dinner at La Hachienda with Illuminatons. Then again maybe stay for Wishes and the Making Memories theme thingy:confused3

Tomorrow may change this up, just called and book May 6th BWV , now just need to see about changing our flight and ME from Saturday to Friday.

Just joining in to read along!
I recognized your name from the May meet thread, so thought I'd pop on over!

I  rottweilers!
I work at an animal shelter, so I can relate to the whole snow/dogs/not getting any 'snow days' kinda thing!

We were also on a wait list for Boardwalk, too! But we canceled it when we added more days on- still no availability for us, and we figured we'd be happy at Kidani any way. But I will stay in the Epcot resort area someday soon!

I have 9 big furry children of my own, Rottweilers are big hams, it is a shame people have given them such a bad reputation. I own a kennel , we board and groom other people dogs and help people to place there dogs with new pet parents when they are transferd out. I think it is great that you work at a shelter, I would be taking them all home if I worked there:scared1:
So read your trip report DH is is HVAC sales/distribution kinda of similar to your DH funny. We do need to meet up, I saw you posted on the May meet up thread we should meet up in France around 3pm, what do you think. figure everyone else will be done there ADRS .

I'm still reading along too! I'll update in the May Meetup thread too.

So what is your touring style?

I too would take home every dog at the shelter. We have to settle for our one GoldenDoodle as he is pretty much more than I can handle. I also wanted a Great Dane though and our local shelter has a 4 year old one right now!

Well, we have 3 cats, a dog and 2 bunnies. So I kinda do take a lot home :rotfl:
But we couldn't afford vet bills for any more (after some of the illnesses we've had experience with...), so here is where we must be 'full'!

3pm in France should work for us! We can detour through Epcot on our way to a late dinner that night. Very exciting- can't wait!

You should get the Great Dane, we just had one Kennel with us ( a puppy ) who would stand there and rest his head on my chest while I was bathing him standing up. He reminded me of a small pony.I like the Golden Doodles also, they would keep each other company and wear each other out. That is what mine do . We Axel the oldest now up here now with his grand daughter Ady They where just out playing with Peril and Ave they have pooped each other out.

Our touring style ... I would have to say we like to go go go but in a relaxed way. We love to sit share a nice meal maybe a bottle of wine then walk around people watch , see the shows ( DH loves the shows but is ever on guard to make show he is not made to participate ). We enjoy doing the rides but will not wait in any line over 40 mins. We just like to see what magic the day will bring.
