Well, looks like tomorrow will be a snow day. They closed ds's school around 6pm tonight- for Monday. I just got the call- my work is going to be closed tomorrow- and dh called in and they told him to sit tight until Monday night (he was supposed to leave 6am tomorrow).

Throughout last week we got about 2 ft of snow- then since last night we've gotten (according to what dh measured alittle while ago) another almost 3 ft. The snowdrifts in my front yard are above some of the tree branches that are 8-9 ft off the ground.

So, looks like we're getting a long weekend :) .

I never knew how good I had it when i was in school! I wish I had snow days from work. hehehe have fun. :)

Send some down here! I'm hoping for a huge Nor'easter so I can't get into NYC for work. :)

Did I mention I HATE my job with a passion?

Bring it a bit further south as I have to go back to Jury Duty to see if I get what will be at least a 15 day trial.

We live in Northeast Ohio and during the 6:00 p.m. news, they said they had over 200 schools/school districts closed for tomorrow. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if that number hasn't gone up significantly by now. It is downright frigid here!:cold:

They Called off all the schools in my county for tomorrow by 830. My friends live all over the county so i'm hoping to be able to get together... even though we were together tonight.

Kids are off, but teachers are going in tomorrow in the city. No long weekend for us.

Wow, how can we get in on that!?!
Here in Central CT, the kids are dying for any snow!! DS and DD have yet to make a snowball and even tried unsuccessfully to sled down our hill the one time we got about a half inch!

Keep telling them that we have lots of time for winter still, but this is the weirdest winter I can ever remember.

Good luck, OP, and all of you who are getting bombed! The kid in me envies you.

P.S. It is freakin' cold here -- brrrrrrr, so we do have that, unfortunately.

As of right now all schools north of the City of Buffalo are open...hoping that changes by morning.

I was out Silver Creek way on Monday night. My kids had a car accident on the Thruway by Fredonia...they hit ice, did a nice spin across the road and ended up in a ditch facing the wrong direction, up against a guard rail...no one got hurt but the car is a mess. They tried to drive home and hit some really bad snow so DH drove down to get them. They made it to the Angola service center, so we had to drive to the Silver Creek exit, turn around and head back towards Buffalo. With the snow on Monday it took us over 3 hours to get there and back.

We missed all the big snow Sunday...but that cold and wind is killing me!

Here in Baltimore, Md, it's about 20 degrees. I never wish for snow, because it just makes it harder to get to work - we never close - and the parking on my street becomes horrible :sad2:

I can't wait to be able to enjoy snow days like you all!

Yup, right now it is exactly 0 degrees. :)

Even the snow has frozen.

Thats a lot of snow! WOW! I love snow days!

If we do close it will be due to cold. Right now we are at 1 degree with a -21 wind chill. I was pretty sure they closed at a -20 but my kids tell me it has to be -22 :confused3 not sure what the difference is...-2 degrees isn't going to seem any different for those kids waiting on a corner for the bus.

I guess I should be happy being in the double digits! You guys have me beat! Now it's 12 degrees out!

I'm so sorry to hear that. I live in Silver Creek and it's been a mess all week. I work in West Seneca though-- I'd leave in the morning- and it was terrible almost everyday- then I'd get 1/2 way to work- and it would be cold, but clear as a bell. Crazy weather all week.

It was a mess out that way...and by my house there was nothing! Coming back from picking them up it was whiteouts until we hit the exit where you either go towards Albany or into downtown Buffalo and then the snow just turned off. Luckily they were going slow enough so that although the car looks bad, they are fine...except for being nervous about driving in the snow now.
