I already did my baking this week.

Chocolate Chip
Cut-Outs
Peanut Butter

I'm thinking about doing the 'Snow Day Bake Fest' thing too! I'm still working but I only have one daycare child here today and I am so relieved that I don't have to go out in this weather to bring my kids to school!! I think I will be doing-

Meatballs
Chex Mix
Brownies
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Shortbread Cookies

Yummy
(disclaimer: it will NOT be a good weight watchers day!!!)

Good idea! I'm going to make beef stew and a batch of chocolate chip cookies with walnuts!

Wow! :earseek: You're all welcome to come to my house next week..! :rotfl2:

Sugar cookie dough is done and in the fridge to chill....

butter is on the counter to soften for the rest of the stuff.

I think i might have to toss something in the crock pot....hmmm whats in that freezer anyway :)

It's snowy here today, also. Looks like a crock pot beef stew, hang around the house day!

Beef stew in the crock-pot, bread rising as we speak, will make some fried chicken later this afternoon, and probably complete today with a cake or a batch of cookies. Now that I think about it, I do like the snow days... but only when I get to stay home.

We have a snow day, too. It has already turned to sleet here. Yuck!

Too bad the kids are at day care and I am at work. I would love to spend a snow day with them!

No snow days here (ever!), but after school DD & I will be making cookie dough (gingerbread & butter cookies) to refrigerate overnight. Tomorrow is our family baking day; my sister and nieces and DD & I will gather at my dad's house to do our baking and cookie decorating. In addition to gingerbread and butter cookies, we're also making:

little loaves of banana nut bread (I've had bananas in my cupboard all week, it's practically all I can smell...they're ready for the bread!)
peanut butter kiss cookies
fudge
coconut macaroons
and chocolate chip cookies

I can't wait! I love holiday baking! :flower:

Mmmmmm - what are magic bar cookies? They sound good!

My XMIL makes these....

melt butter in 9x13 pan, in oven...cumble graham crackers and press into melted butter, dump can of condensed milk on top, dump chocolate on top, dump coconut on top...bake

I think, there is a recipe on the back of condensed can's of milk....I'm not sure what they call them- maybe magic bar cookies...

I freeze them, and eat em right outta the freezer!...I'm not sure how many will make it into the packages for christmas.

its on the back of the label for carnation condensed milk, I just checked for ya.....enjoy!

here's the real recipe

Outrageous cookie bars
1/2 cup butter
1 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 can 14oz nestle sweetened condensed milk
2 cups semi-sweet chocolate morsels
1 cup flaked coconut
1 cup chopped walnuts

preheat oven to 350
melt butter in 13x9 pan in oven, remove from oven, sprinkle graham crackers over butter, stir well, press into bottom of pan. Pour condensed milk evenly over crumbs, sprikle with morsels, coconut and nuts, press down firmly. Bake 25-30 minutes or until light brown. Cool completely in pan on wire rack.

My X and 1 DD like the edges crispy, I prefer them soft. The chocolate doesnt really melt totally, you can still see/feel the morsel shape.

They're YUMMY!

Sigh... Wish I could be doing that. Instead of sitting here at work!

Are you listening to Christmas music, too?? Wish I could be at home baking. :)

No christmas music, I dont own any.- honestly cant stand it

My MP3 player is hooked up to the stereo, and random shuffling

last couple that I remember are

50 cent
guns n roses
garth brooks
Rascall flats
Kayne West
Ozzy

so um no christmas music here
