It is showing a storm on the morning we leave, thurs out of manchester, NH.

Does SW ever let you take an earlier flight. .say wed, to avoid the weather???

We are planning on driving there on wed, but if they are willing to put us on an earlier flight...we can be there.

Does anyone know SWA policy on this...I have tried calling a couple of times...but the wait is long...and I keep getting interupted...ahg..kids..lol

If the weather forecast is severe enough they will. It'll be in their website first, no need to call just keep checking. Print the page with the policy in case word hasn't filtered down to the employees at the airport.

I wouldn't count on any change more than a day before.

My daughter was in a similar situation a few weeks ago and I was very impressed with the CS at SWA.
DD had a flight out of BWI to BNA on a Saturday morning ~ That was the weekend of the big snowstorm on the east coast. We called the airline Friday morning just to see what (if anything) could be done. The agent checked Friday flights and saw she could get her on a flight out that evening ~ no extra charge. She booked her & checked her into that flight and then cancelled her Saturday flight.

If the storm is still in the forecast I would call SW early the day before your scheduled flight and see what they can do. I would not wait until they have something posted on the web-site and they are swamped with calls.

Good luck :)

In addition to everything else I may have done to plan for the storm or had been unsuccessful doing and which may be described above I would show up at the airport in plenty of time to stand by for the earlier flight I wanted.

Right now we have fully refundable "backup" tickets purchased for wed night.

If the airline issues a weather alert, those seats would have been gone by then, the travel agent told me to go ahead and book them, then if they are not needed they are refundable right up to an hour before departure.

We are leaning towards just using them anyway, and not risking it. It is a bit more money, but this vacation has cost us a lot allready, and we don't want the added stress of worrying about how to get there if they do cancel flights thurs.

Anyway, we have our bases covered....so here's hoping all goes well!!
