I have been looking for weeks and weeks for kids snow/weather boots. I want the kind that are nylon on the outside, waterproof and fuzzy inside. I can purchase flip flops and sandles in my local stores but no winter shoes and on line everyone is all sold out.....that is unless I want to spend 50 or more bucks. JCPenny had some perfect ones online, but when I put them in my shopping bag they were unavailable...drat. I was thinking more in the $25 range as we do not get much snow here, but my DS scout troop is planning a snow tube day. I need boys size 2 and girls size 4/5. Willing to let my daughter wear "boy" boots, but my 6 DS will probably not wear pink:lmao:.
Any ideas?

Do you have a Target nearby? Our Target had an entire aisle of snow boots on clearance.

Lands End makes great boots for kids, they have the Snow Flurry on sale for $19.99. We've bought these before and the kids have them again this year. They are awesome boots.

Second Land's End. I know there are some free shipping codes out there, because I got one this morning, but I deleted it before I was tempted to use it.

I 2nd Target, I found kids boots there a few days ago.

After our first initial snow of 2" I found 5 prs at Walmart for $15 each (three for my kids, two for the neighbors.) I always buy a size bigger b/c we don't usually get that much snow here in MD. Well, the next week we got the 22", so I got my $15 out of them! I really thought Walmart would be cleaned out that day, but they had lots. Give it a try.

A bit of a digression, but I so totally get annoyed by the seasons going by so fast in the world of retail.

Winter is over in January, July we move into fall. I am sweating still when winter coats take over.

If you buy clothes, and other seasonal items, when you actually use and need them you are often out of luck!

I do not wander stores for fun, and only go to a mall under protest, so I realize I am a bit out of the ordinary but come on!! You should be able to find snow boots in the beginning of January, especially as it seems to be a record breaking winter...but of course the stores would have had no way of knowing that when ordering months ago!:rotfl:

Lands End. We got snow boots from Lands End for our trip to Yellowstone last week. They were great.

Not sure if you've looked at LLBean. If they don't have any online, call. Sometimes there are still items in the warehouse that will come up in their computer, but not enough to warrent putting them online.

Payless has some insulates (is that a brand?!) on sale. I bought some that could be rinsed off but were furry and warm inside and halfway cute lol

Everyone laughed when I bought snow boots before the big snow here but since it has snowed twice here I think I got my money's worth! I bought my husband a pair also when I bought mine so $45 for both since it was BOGO

I second the suggestion of Walmart. My kids went to Snow Mountain at Stone Mountain yesterday and needed snow boots because the wind chill in Atlanta yesterday was 5 degrees. Last year they just wore tennis shoes because the temperature was 50 degrees at the same time of year! We were in a panic and had to find some boots this weekend. We looked all over, and only found reasonably priced kids boots at Walmart, although I could have gotten a cute swimsuit at most places! My son told me that most everyone there had on Walmart boots! They are waterproof on the outside, and lined on the inside and were only $15. My kids said they worked well.

My kids have been getting Lands End boots for about 10 years now - they hold up great, aren't that expensive, and ship fast (unless you are using a free shipping promo).

Our Sears' Land's End shop had all of the winter boots 50% off the regular price. They had a ton of them.

I'll echo the recommendations for Lands End. If they don't have them at Sears, try on-line. There are always free shipping codes out there! Lands End boots re-sell on Ebay really well...I sold my ds14's old pair (men's size) for just about what I bought them for!

we've had luck with sears in the past. decent boots, not too expensive.

have you tried goodwill or other resale shops? neighbor told me to try burlington coat factory once, i didn't have luck but my boys are older than hers and this was a few weeks after she had bought.

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Already tried Walmart, Target, Sears, Kmart, JcPenny, several shoe stores and all of our local re-sale shops. I had previously looked on Lands End and they do not have the boys size we need. Double checked last night, still do not have size 2 in anything other than pink and coral, If DS6 was younger, he would just be wearing pink boots, but, I doubt I could get him to wear them, you know how fussy those 1st graders are......apparently the other cub scouts would make fun of him:lmao: imagine that, boys making fun of a peer wearing pink boots his mother got on sale. Lands End did have a very cute (to me) pair in his size that looks like a fox, but again, to babyish, although I would wear them, so wish they had them in a womans 10, I would be all over them.
Just frustreating as I have been looking and looking forever. I am a buy it this year for next year on the discount rack kinda gal and I never found any last year. I know we do not live in a huge snow area (North Carolina) but we do get bad weather and snow a few times a year.
I agree with the other poster, I think my biggest gripe is I can buy flip flops and swimsuits at my local walmart, but need some boots in December....no go.
My mother in law lives in Wisconson, I checked availablity at JCPenny and it says that her store there sells the boots in their store (the NC stores do not carry them apparently).....I am going to have her check around and ship them to me if she can find them. She does not live in a n area with a Target, but they have a Walmart, Shopco and JcPenny, hopefully she will find the sizes I need.

Try freecycle!!!! I just gave away a few old pairs I found in the basement when I was putting away Christmas decorations.

Have you checked ebay?

My husband was complaining about this the other day. While we were in Walmart, he was looking for some gloves. He said he found plenty of summer stuff but no gloves. :headache:

OP I feel your pain! I'm in New England and there are bathing suits in the department stores already! LOL! We won't be needing those for, oh, six months...

I went to our local LLBean Outlet yesterday looking for new boots for myself and DD2 (she has DD4's hand me downs, but they are too tight now), no luck. I am going to try and go to Kohl's and Bob's Stores today and see what's left. I don't need anything fancy, just something to keep the feet dry & warm.

I also like to buy at the end of the season -- this year I am going to see if I can get Target brand snow pants on the cheap. DD4 loves hers and for what we need, they are perfect (just playing in the snow, sledding, some pond skating, no skiiers here yet).

I just bought some for my two daughters at LLBean. They were $40.00 but I bought them a little larger so they can wear them next year. My daughter loves the snow and plays out in it for hours and she says her feet stay warm and dry in the boots so I stick with LLBean.
