This is one HUGE weather system--all the way from California to Michigan and into Canada :scared1:

Keep in mind that the above picture posted changes as they update their website---it was a picture of a huge weather system moving across the country dumping snow from California to the midwest to Canada (for those that show up late for the show)

Our local weather station has our projected snowfall to be 7.6" by 6am Wednesday. :sad2: Normally I would be excited at the possibility of class being canceled, but we have finals next week so it is NOT a good time to be missing out on lecture.

Stay safe and warm, everyone! :goodvibes

I am a little bummed because I was going to drive to SW MN to help out at a Christmas charity I used to work with but I can't do that now. But still, it's December 7th and we have NO SNOW.

Yup, I am in Southern California and I have been here 18 months and have not seen rain like today since leaving Boston, MA. It POURED all day. That just is not the typical SoCal weather. Sun comes back tomorrow. But today has been dark, dreary, windy, cold and rainy. Shocking, to say the least. :sad2:

Yep, blizzard warning down here in SE MN. Expected up to a foot with 40 mph.

This is our 3rd snowfall this fall. The other two were just a couple inches, but did cause a lot of accidents.

I am not looking forward to a bunch of snow. Jeez, Target and our local mall were packed today. People getting their errands done, I guess.

This is a major storm system which will impact many states.

herc.

Yep, here in sw Michigan they are already putting up warnings and watches saying to expect blizzard like conditions late Wed and Thurs. Weather people are saying to expect school closures on Thurs. We are supposed to get lake effect snow too.:scared1: Kids are looking forward to playing in the snow. Its pitifull what they are trying to build a snow igloo with now.:lmao:

We're supposed to get Herc's foot of snow after MN is done with it;)

DH is hunting in MT and is desperate for snow, and of course they're not supposed to get any:rotfl2:

Batten down the hatches everyone!

Hi neighbor to the north! Hows it looking up there:rotfl:

The bummer is we never get snow days around here. They get the roads cleared way too fast :lmao:. MAYBE if the system slides a little north and the worst hits right at 6:00AM on Wednesday we MIGHT get a 2 hour late start :lmao:.

hercamore lives in an area that is more rural and more open--you always get blizzards down by you...My BIL and SIL live near Cabelas and they get snowed in once a year or more.

I always get so pumped up when the weather gets churned up! One of the reasons I love New England! You guys stay safe and warm !:goofy:

I'm in southeastern Wisconsin, and we're expected to get a lot of snow. Although we're near Lake Michigan, so we could get some rain in with it, too. Personally, I want it to be all snow, because I'm hoping for a snow day Wednesday.

Same here. Although we have gotten a few snow days the last couple winters. But on Wednesday, if the snow ends anytime before 6:00 am, I'm sure we'll have school.

Hi neighbor! You guys seem to get the lake effect snow too. Down here we're supposed to get about 14" and then more this weekend. I hope the weekend snow is a farce since I need to travel to Tosa.

Haha....the first year we moved here we got the first big snow of the season and my kids were thrilled thinking no school....UM NOPE!! Not here!! WE have only been cancelled twice in 2 years and it was for extreme cold. When we lived in Ohio, if they even thought it was going to snow, they would close the schools...snow days were used up by the beginning of December.

They've already canceled school here for tomorrow, which is ridiculous imo. My dh has a job interview on Wed. and now I don't know what will happen if it will be blizzard like out. Figures.

So I was looking at the map that was posted, which colors are supposed to be the worst? I was thinking pink meant ice/rain, but that can't be right. I could easily turn on the weather or look it up, but the Packers are on and I can't turn away!

I looked up the key from the website (weather.gov) because the colors were confusing me too.

Pink is Winter Storm Warning
Reddish color is Blizzard Warning
Purple is Winter Weather Advisory
Dark brown in OH/IN is High Wind Watch
Blue in PA is Winter Storm Watch

7-12 inches coming to Milwaukee tomorrow and into Wed. We are right by the lake, so we might get a little more OR a little less.

PLUS, it is getting really cold..........Brrrrrrrrrr
