Snow At Mgm And Wdw

I have seen a couple of threads on this recently and they have all said that the "snow" was soap chips. They say it looks really good but don't catch it on your tongue!! :)

It's very cool, no matter how it's made! I don't really want to know. :)

Laurie in OH, mom to

Alex, 11 years old
Julianne and Leah, 10 years old
Audrey, 2 years old

WDW visits in 1973, 1986, 1987, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005!
Currently planning a December 9-16, 2006 trip

Soap "Chips"? I dont think so. It's not "chips" of anything.

It's also not soap. It's a specifically made mixture that visually resembles a look of soap of sorts but, it's not.

It is specifically made for the purpose it serves.

Not soap chips... thinks of something that floats in the air, does not need to be cleaned up (it disappears when it hits the ground).
When they're small and in clumps has a white appearance especially at night.
Tastes like soap.

Tip. Don't eat the snow. :rolleyes1

Have a good trip! :goodvibes

No matter what its made of, it certainly does its job and puts the mood on for the holidays. First thought " its snowing", second thought, WOW, and last thought, in Florida !

I love the snow when it falls there, no matter what it's made of. It's just pretty and it really sets the mood. :santa: :santa:

Ok so everybody's saying how great it looks....am I the only one who thought it looked cheesy :confused3

Maybe I was there on off nights, but it looked pretty bad when I saw it, like it wasn't even worth them attempting.

Whatever it is, it can pit a camera lens. Be careful when taking pictures in the snow.

From what I was told.....it is 'real' snow during the Osborne Family Lights, but 'artificial' snow at CP and MK. Not sure why there would be a difference, but that's what I was told in Epcot a year or so ago.

To be clear, it is soap bubbles. Tiny bubbles that tend to clump together, but are very light and floaty. AFAIK, it is the same everywhere - ie, no real water ice snow anywhere.

It's the same stuff between MK and MGM.
