Thanks for the link. Looks like this if for tweens + and has an additional cost.
Thanks for the heads up. We'll be there next week and I hear the temp is 100 degrees right now so it should be refreshing, lol.Warning: that shark reef tank at Typhoon Lagoon is COLD! they keep it at 72 degrees. It's fun, but just be aware. I reccomend doing that activity last.
My DH and 3 sons snorkeled in The Living Seas when my youngest was 7 or 8 (he's 21 now).
They did not need admission to Epcot, so it's "extra" but you don't have to go to a park that day if you don't want to use a ticket and do that instead. Meet outside at Guest Relations and escorted in and out. DD and I used tickets to Epcot and we were able to take pics of them. They got a t-shirt and they enjoyed the experience.

Do they let you in Epcot at all or are they very strict about getting you out? Without having to pay an admission. I read one post where a family said they leave you to the door but it would be very easy to just stay in the park.
There is a bench on the right by the restrooms before you get to ticket booths. You wait for the cm and enter through a gate there, when you're finished they escort you back to that spot. The snorkeling is really scuba without the weight belt. You can't dive, but you see all the fish and other marine life in the tank. The rays and turtles will come check you out and I had one of the Sand Tiger Sharks come way closer to me than I was comfortable with.I think they escorted them out, but that was many years ago. Honestly, I can't remember. My guess is that they used a separate back entrance into the Living Seas pavilion that avoids the main entrance (going in and out for this event), so you are never really "in" Epcot.
The living seas is really meant for diving. Can't see snorkeling in there being any fun since most of the interesting things to look at is at the bottom and you can't swim through the reef while snorkeling. It is a lot of fun to dive there though.
The SAS is still fun. My FIL and I were the only two in the tank during our session. About 45 minutes in the water. You need to be certified to dive, just an FYI for anyone reading this thread.
We are doing the snorkeling because my dh is certified but I'm not. I've heard that it is just as fun![]()
