My son has a cheap snorkel set of his own. Can he do snorkeling with his own set, or is it better to rent a set through Disney.
Also, if I bring his set, do I have to pay extra for him to snorkel? And can I get a life jacket there without renting the snorkel package?

Hello there, I don't have official info for you, but from what I have read and the way I understand it is you can bring your own snorkel equipment, you don't have to pay anything to snorkel and I believe you can get a lifevest for nothing without having a package. My first trip is next week and we are bringing our own snorkels for the kids to use. So I guess I will find out for sure then.. Hope this helps.

It doesn't cost anything to snorkel if you have your own equipment and life vest are free. Have fun!

Yes, above poster is correct....you can bring your own snorkel equip and get a vest for free from either the rental shack or from one of the CM's that monitor the snorkel area.

Even though he will have his own gear, I believe he would still have to snorkel in the designated area....no snorkeling in the beach area and no floats/mats in the snorkel area.

Yes, you can bring your own and life vests are free at every lifeguard station. We purchase the "package" the includes snorkle equipment, bike rental and floats.....with a double stop at CC it's buy the package for a day and get the second one for free....

We had our own equipment and just asked for life vest. But my children also snorkled around the family beach area, fish swam all around. pirate:
