I was wondering if anyone has had a good bag to keep your snorkeling gear together while on the cruise and to carry gear to shore?

We have been using a laundry bag which we bought at WalMart many years ago for very little money. It is huge, made of mesh, and has a drawstring at the top. It is large enough to get two sets of fins, masks, snorkels and also two beach towels. It also has a shoulder strap on it so one person can just throw it over there shoulder.

It has worked unbelievably well and is a very inexpensive option.

Go to a sports shop that sells scuba diving gear. I bought perfect bags for our snorkel equipment, long enough to accomodate our fins and they are made of mesh, so that the equipment dries easily. They have a draw string which pulls tight so that nothing falls out. It only cost around $ 12.

I should have mentioned in my previous post that when we were looking for a bag it was in Minnesota, in the middle on winter and we could not find anything that would work until we stumbled on the laundry bag at WalMart. I think it was $2.98 and like I said earlier it works great. Also, you do pretty much need a mesh bag. That way things can dry and if you have sand on stuff it will just fall through the mesh.

We just carry one of the big mesh bags from the dive shop. They allow your stuff to dry out and they don't hold sand if you have them on a beach for off-shore snorkeling.

Go online and they have a great selection. The mesh bags are great unless you want to carry other stuff in them. I like to carry my all my other stuff as well so I got one that would keep my stuff dry. I should say that I don't carry a lot of extra stuff, just my ID, suntan lotion, and a towel but it is nice to only carry one bag.

I use this one. Ive had 5 complete sets of snorkel gear in it,plus it has a small pocket for eye drops or sunscreen etc. Since Im a diver, I generally pack my travel bag and put this bag inside it. When I get on the ship, I put our gear in it to carry it where ever. The 2 things that concern me about checking a bag like this, is that since its soft, it can and will be crushed by bigger bags. The second ting, is that since its mesh, you can see in it, and is a temptation for some one to help them selves.Which is why I pack it in a hard bag, and repack it when we get there.
