Sneeky, but for a good cause.

My best friend is preparing for baby number 3. She is an avid picture taker and downloads all her shots to Shutterfly. After she prints them through shutterfly, she throws them in a box. We talked about this the other day, and she mentioned the best gift anyone could give her was a photo album. I guess it's just something she overlooks and really doesn't have time to do. She said she doesn't even have a book of her first daughters birth.

Well, her first daughter will be 5 this november, and I think this would be a great time to do an album for her. It could be "birth till the begining of her school career". I thought I would do this album in the form of an ABC book.
The thing is, I have the username and password to my friends shutterfly account, (cus sometimes I can't open the photos she send me through e-mail). Would it be horrible of me to sneek in to her account to print off the pics I want for her daughters album? Of course I would transfer them to my account and pay for them myself.
We are the best of friends, and I don't think she would be offended, but then again, getting into someone elses account with out permission IS pretty sneeky! I really don't want to tell her I am doing this as it will ruin the surprise.
How would you feel about this?

I think this is a wonderfully sweet thing to do!!!! You could get her to 'share' her photos with you if she can (I know you can with Snapfish, but not sure about Shutterfly - I would imagine she could though). That way, you can see them and order your own copies through your own account instead of through hers. Still sneaky, but a bit less 'offensive' perhaps!
If that's not an option, then I'd order and pay like you were talking about. I know I wouldn't complain about the 'sneakiness' once I got an album of my child from birth - 5 years!!!!

If she has shared with you her logon and password, then by all means, I would go in and order the pictures from Shutterfly. Yes, she could share them with you but then she would know you have something up your sleeve.

I bet when she opens the album, "sneakiness" won't even come to mind. What a wonderful, thoughtful gift for you to do.

Indeed, many of the pictures she has shared with me, and for all she knows, I could have saved them to my harddrive. But I know there are a few that she has on the site that she had taken with a 35mm camera and scanned them to shutterfly.
Okay, I'll add this to my list of projects now!

What a great idea! She'll LOVE it! I wouldn't try to save them to your own account though, because they become grainy and lose resolution. I'm not sure why. Or I have a better idea, why don't you log into her account, and then share with yourself all the pictures you want, then you can order them without having to order them from her account. I just know from experience if you download them to your computer and reupload them they lose resolution. Hope I'm making sense.

Merandab4...I don't even know you but would welcome you doing albums of my kids from 0-5 yrs. or even up to 18, what the heck! Seriously, that is a loving and thoughtful gift and your friend will be very grateful. You are a dear friend to want to do that for her.
