Sneakin' snacks?

There is a tram announcement that says if you are bringing your own food into the park there is a picnic area located. . . . for your enjoyment.

Interesting conflicting messages.

We've always brought in our own snacks and sodas. Went in July and August and backpacked a ton of things and didn't have any problems. Canned sodas are great cuz you can ask for a free cup of ice just about anywhere inside both parks. I saw a lady try to bring in a bucket of KFC chicken and she did have problems. Univeral Studios is a whole different story, they are super strick and do not allow any snacks - I think only water, fruit, and baby food. They also bag search.

1.) Will they let us do this w/ no problems?
yes

2.) What other kinds of foods/ drinks will they let us bring in (including our own bottled water)-- open or not?
no glass

3.) Are sippy cups w/ milk, water, etc. already in them okay to bring in?

Thanks for any help/ observations!

I walk in all the time with food from like del taco, el pollo loco, subway whatever. i've never been told anything. Some times people with glass bottles with ummm like snappel, this guy was arguing with the bag checker for like 5 min, it was crazy. Hope you have a fun trip! Nicki and Tena (Service Dog)

So no one's ever had problems trying to bring cans into the park? :confused3

As far as other things to bring....we will frequently freeze go gurts and bring them in. I hate that there's so little fruit and veggies, so I'll frequently bring fruit cups/apple sauce cups and carrotts (little one demands ranch as well, so I'm sure we'll have that, too

This may sound silly but if you have a Long Johns Silvers near you, they have individual Hidden Valley Ranch containers for their salads and wraps. I know that when I've seen them that I thought theyd be good to have on a trip just like D-land. So...you could go and have something and ask for some sides of ranch to go with. Just make sure you put them in a baggie, I forgot about one and it opened in my bag...yuck! Just a thought:)

I have had no trouble bringing plastic bottles, but I have heard that they will not allow cans or glass. I've had a can taken from me, but it was open and I was walking with it.
