You know the sneakers that are advertised that you wear them and its like working out. Anyone try them? Are they worth the money? Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

My 24 year old DD purchased some when they first came out. She works in a hospital and thought they would be wonderful.....she got married in October and when she moved to a new home - the shoes stayed here.....

I have the Skecher Shape-ups. I like them but I wouldn't say they give you a work-out. I walk a few miles in them and can feel it in my calves. I also like the way they help my posture.

I have the new Reebok Easytones.

They feel great on my feet. WHen I wear them they look normal and feel good.

At the end of the day when I take them off, my legs feel like they have had a workout. My legs feel stronger in general.

I think they are worth it.

I have been wearing the original brand of these for over a year and now have switched to Sketchers. They were recommended by my podiatrist to help my feet.

My feet do feel better in them, but my butt is just as big as it was when I started wearing them! They do use some muscles in your legs that you don't use in regular shoes, but I don't think they really give you a workout.

I have the sketchers and OH the soreness in my back and stomach for the first week.

I wear them because I am trying to keep my left foot from turning out (residual from a car crash a few years ago). They do help and if I walk in them all day you do feel it (calves, thighs, ankles, stomach, back all the way to shoulders). I have noticed that my ankles and calves seem trimmer but that's about it (would take a lot for the rest of me to change.. more then just the walking). But I also do a lot of the rocking motions and toe raises in mine as well.

I plan to wear mine at disney as I feel like I'm walking on air LOL. I'll have other shoes just in case I get to tired.

On the down side they are very bulky and can be difficult to drive in. Also, once you get used to wearing them, regular tennis shoes feel weird.

They work but you have to do other stuff too-modify your diet, do other workouts.I wear them at work because I'm on my feet the whole shift. I noticed a difference in my butt, legs and abdomen. They are also extremely comfortable.

I've been in physical therapy for 2 months with an ankle injury so I decided to ask my therapist about them. He says they are a marketing genious, but to save my money. He said you can get the same effects by walking around on the balls of your feet in any shoe. There's not substitute for hard work!

I just ordered the mary-jane style of Sketchers - should be here next week!

They look pretty compared to the rest of the shoe, but I am using them in conjunction with a severe diet (yaaa protein shakes!... but already down 16 lbs!... and jonsing for my junk food), a gym membership (aquafit and Zoomba and spinning will be my friend) and a huge lifestyle switch. I figure they will tone up my legs extra for our Disney trip and maybe sculpt a little extra (I'm built like a Ukrainian farmer)

the real key to them for me is that due to the padding and the way the shoe is built, I do not get all the extra jarring on my knees and hips as I do in regular tennis shoes. It was VERY noticeably wearing my tennis shoes the other day for golfing.

;)I haven't had them long enough to know if they'll do any toning but skechers shape ups are the most comfortable sneaker that I've ever owned. I love them.

I have been waring MBT for almost a year and I love them. It really helps my back pain. I have scoliosis since I was 12 years old. I do have daily pain and when I put the MBT's on the pain does go away. They are amazing. I know they are pricey, but if you buy them on sale on line they are the same price as the sketchers. Im not sure if the sketchers are as good, I have never tired them. But I do know you can get cheaper MBT.

an article online last week that said the Sketchers are not any good, but the Reeboks did help. Sorry, I don't remember the source.

I noticed some at Payless last night. Obviously not a big name maker, but might be something to check out if you don't want to spend a lot of $$ to try them out.

I have Plantar Fascitis and the doctor just recommended I get some to help my foot pain. I got mine from AVON (Curves) for around $65.00. I haven't tried them yet though.

I got the Reebok Easytones, and the are a Godsend for my PF. I have horrible feet. I love the way they help with the PF. I also have had surgery for Morton's Neuroma and they seem to ease that pain as well. So much relief. That little bubble of air under my heel is just WONDERFUL! I wear them whenever I can. I am debating about getting the sandals now. I typically have pain especially when working on the treadmill (my main source of exercise.) That has subsided since I started wearing the Easytones.

I bought a pair of Dansko clogs and found that they cured my Plantar Fascitis. LOve them!

I have the reebok easytones. I absolutely love them. I did quite a bit of research before buying them. They feel great. They're comfortable enough to wear every day.

I also have PF and love my Dansko shoes as well. However, I'm looking for something more "summery" than what Dansko offers. I'm afraid to sink money into the Sketchers in case they make my PF worse.
