Help! I'm trying to make my free Snapfish album and I've upload 60+ pictures to my account. I can see them but when I begin making the book and need to drag photos, all I see is red boxes with little x's in the corner where each photo should be...60+ of them. WHAT am I doing wrong? How do I get my pictures to be visible on that page?
THANKS for any help you can give this rookie!

We believe it's due to heavy traffic. If you can work on your free book in off hours, you should find it easier.

Also, I found that by choosing "preview book" it seemed to jog the program for my book, then when I went back into edit it didn't necessarily have the red pages. Another poster on the other thread ("free snapfish book") said they used mozilla instead of internet explorer, and they didn't have as many problems. You may want to check that other thread for a few more tips...

I started a new thread about this, but it looks like it will disappear onto page 2 pretty soon..I will put it here, too. Maybe you can do your album on off hours, I bet this weekend is going to be busy, too.

I just received this email in case anyone is out there frantically trying to finish their photo album by the previous deadline.

"Due to the amazing popularity of our free book offer, we've extended the time you have to create your free book to 11:59pm PST on Saturday, November 22nd.

* The site is experiencing intermittent slowness and customer service wait times are very long. We apologize for this inconvenience.

o The best time to create your book is on weekdays in the morning or early afternoon.
o If you need help or have questions we recommend you click here to visit our help pages.

* If you are getting this email there is a credit in your account for a custom cover photo book ($29.99 value).

* Please note that you will not see the credit appear until you are on the Review Order Page - the page that has the "buy now" button.

* Please allow 3 weeks to receive your book from the day you order it.

* Please note this promotion cannot be combined with any other offer.

Help Creating a Book:
You can create 8" x 8" and 8" x 11" photo books that feature your own captions, titles, and photos printed directly on the book's cover.

To create a custom cover, begin by creating an 8" x 8" or 8" x 11" Custom Cover Photo Book, then follow the steps below.

1. On the "create your photo book" page, you'll see your book template at the center of the page, your collected photos at the right, and a scroll bar of menu options below your template. To design your custom cover, click on the "covers" tab, and then on the cover style you'd like.

2. Your custom cover will appear as the main image on the page. To add photos to your cover, drag and drop photos from your collected photos in the areas labeled "drag photo here." (Only one photo fits in each photo area.) To remove a photo from your cover, click the "X" that appears when you mouse over the photo.

Tip: You can edit a photo after you've placed it on your cover by clicking on the paintbrush icon that appears at the center of the photo. Once you're happy with your edits, click "apply changes." This will only edit the photo on your cover, not the master copy of the photo in your library.

3. To add captions or titles to your cover, click on an area labeled "click to edit." A small pop-up window will appear with a field for you to type in your message. You can change the font, text size, text color, and alignment by using the icons at the top of the window. Once you're happy with your captions, click the "apply changes" button.

4. If you want to change cover styles, click on a new design in the "covers" tab. Your photos and captions won't be affected unless the new style has a different layout.

5. Once you're happy with your custom cover, you can continue editing and designing your photo book, preview your book and check out, or save your progress to finish your photo book later. You'll be able to review your cover and photo book again before checkout by clicking on the "preview book" button."

That was nice of them.. It took me forever to upload my photos into the book, and I didn't even do the custom one.

I don't know why they are saying I have a credit for an album in my account. I already made my book, paid the S&H, got my discount and submitted my order. Maybe I have another one? No way...One was definitely enough for me to do...

ETA..I don't know if the extension is also for obtaining the credit, probably just for making the book. So you will need to get your credit tonight, I think that part expires tonight..Does anyone know for sure about that??

I don't know if this will help you since you are doing it one photo at a time ( I did mine the lazy way and just let the site put my pics where ever ..it actually did a great placement job), but when I got to the point of putting the pics into the album..I just let it cycle overnight. But like I said, I let the site just do mine..

I just finished my book not 20 minutes ago and uploaded. it was running fine for me..:confused3

I believe you must still get the credit tonight.

It will appear in your account under your credits. Mine has appeared and disappeared over the last few days. It is now appearing again, so I took a screen shot in case I run into any problems. I am also keeping the email that I just received as well.

I assume you can share your albums? And if so, do you think this offer would work for someone else to use their free album offer and order a duplicate of my album?

Is this just the kids artwork freebie or can you do any pictures??

You can do any pictures.

Well, I just gave up last night around 9:00 CT; just logged on and I'm still having the same problems! How DO I get my photos from the beginning to where I can creat my album??????? This might not be worth the trouble!

Bumping. Can ANYONE explain why I get those darn red boxes where my photos should be? I send an e-mail to snapfish, but it could take 24 hours to get a reply. Is there a number I can call? GRRRRR! This is so fustrating!!!!!:headache:

I finally got mine done yesterday morning:banana: it did take forever to get it done, between the red boxes and then it kicked me off:mad: I was ready to give up too, then tried in the early morning and seemed to work ok.... sometimes still getting the red boxes. When I would click on another page "sometimes" the pics. where the red boxes would appear. Can't explain why the red boxes, but since the date was extended....do to HIGH demand, I would try either in the middle of the night:eek: or wait and do it maybe Monday morning.

Hope yours turn out soon.:thumbsup2

I have AOL and I wasn't able to make the book with them. The site wasn't working right and I couldn't see any of my pictures. I finally tried it under firefox and had no problems.

I created my album the other night - finished around 12:30 am CST - it site got more user-friendly as the night progressed. When I got the red boxes I just quit for a while - hit save and logged out. When I came back later it was fixed. Mine is done...just have to order it. Hopefully that goes smoothly!!
I do have a second free book that my husband credited, but it almost seems like too much work. I have done Shutterfly albums before and they are much easier (in general, taking into consideration the increased traffic).
Good Luck!

I had my entire album done and went to check out. The final cost came up as just the shipping, I submitted and a message came up that their website was experiencing difficulties and my order cannot be completed. I will try again tomorrow.

I had good luck using Mozilla firefox internet program instead of INternet Explorer.. it went pretty easy after that.
