I'm wondering...I've seen a lot of posts regarding snack credits being used for everything from donuts to marshmallow treats to dole whips; the dining plan lists the items that are considered "snacks" for 2008. Does the dining plan give incomplete info or do most vendors let the rule slide? Just curious.....I'd had to go to Goofy's Candy Co for a treat and be told all I can get is an apple or a bottle of water.....:confused3

That's just a guide.

Look for a menu or list of what is sold at the vendor. Anything with the purple DDP sign next to it is included as a snack.

You can also ask, as not everything available is marked.

Yes Mike each CS and foodstand have different items as snacks. I was there in Jan and I got everything from Egg Rolls, and Dole Whips in Adventureland to a BIG cinnamon roll on main street. So make sure you ask what you can have and look for the purple DDP. Have fun searching for great snacks it is fun!

The 08 brochure has the same language as the 07 brochure. Rely on having those specific items or ones marked with the purple DDP sign. Don't assume that anything $4 that doesn't fit either of those descriptions will be included, this year or next. When I was at Pop in March the box of donuts didn't have a purple sign next to it, however some people still report getting it for a snack credit - maybe a sign has been added or maybe they got lucky with a CM. The $4 rule isn't official, the purple sign is.

It's weird how it works...some places you could get loads of things....Pepper Market for example you could get a baked potato and filling as a snack

Epcot food court... A bowl of soup and beverage as a snack

Some shops let you redeem snacks against bags of candy...some don't.

You just have to keep checking and asking...but the CM's are fine with this

We found the worst place to redeem the snacks was at Epcot..for example in one of the ice cream places near Ice Station Cool you could get an ice cream cone but you could only have 1 scoop of ice cream not 2 even thought the 2 scoop one was priced below $4. As we were on the free plan we just went with it...but had we been paying I would have been pretty miffed.
