What are some good, portable snacks that I can bring for the kids? I seem to bring the same snacks (fish crackers!) every time so I'm looking for some different ideas.

Cheez-its
Teddy Grahams
Animal Crackers
Yo-Gos
We usually buy a couple of buckets of popcorn while in the parks

Would also like some different ideas for snacks my DD5 and DD2. So they don't get bored with the same thing.

When my kids were little, I used to buy those variety packs of individual Ritz Bits, Chips Ahoy, etc. They would come in a 9 pack, with three of each snack.

I also brought the packages of crackers, like peanut butter on cheese, or cheese on wheat.

Granola bars
pop tarts
Nutrigrain bars
fruit snacks (only on vacation...I did not like giving my kids these very often!)
raisins
dried fruit and nut mixes (I would buy from the bulk dept. at the grocery store. My kids always liked the banana chips the best!)
ETA: those Hand-Snacks things....like the crackers with the spreadable cheese, or the pretzels you dip in the cheese...very portable!

I like to make a mix of popcorn or kettle corn, honey nut cheerios, and fruit loops. I also get the 90 calorie packs of cereal like Pops. Pretzels, caramel rice cakes, Sponge Bob animal crackers (they're just better for some reason!), any thing like that that you can just put in a baggie and not worry about it melting or getting squished.

I bought some "trail mix" at a farmstand this weekend that my niece loved and I am going to make for her to bring to school and to Disney.

It was:

pretzels
goldfish
yogurt covered raisins
peanuts (not for school)
honey-covered peanuts (not for school)
a few m&ms to get her interested

They had packaged it in a ziploc bag that was like 1/2 the size of a normal ziploc, so it was a perfect amount. She carried it around all day and ate all except the peanuts....

Toast and Peanut Butter Crackers (or whatever type you prefer)
Fruit Snacks
Dry Cereals in baggies
Granola Bars (dry ones rather than chocolate chip, etc.)
Beef jerky, slim jims
Quakes
Dried fruits (can get sticky though)

We had a stroller, so we took a backpack cooler with drinks & snacks. The biggest hits for our crew- adults and kids (kids were 2 & 5) were the individual packs of cashews and apple slices and grapes. The cold apples & grapes were very refreshing in the hot FL heat!

Anything that won't melt! :) Actually I just purchased some Gripz Cheez-Its and Gripz Chips Ahoy for the kids and pretzels and nuts for the adults.

"Ritz Bitz" peanut butter sandwich crackers

Trail mix (Cosctco makes a great one; I also toss in a handful of pretzels with the raisins, nuts, etc.)

Granola bars/protein bars

Teddy grahams

I like to pack grapes in a gladware container. They're easy to pop in your mouth while you're in line and there are no crumbs.

My kids are older 14 & 12 and this past trip (7/09) I just brought hard candies, mini slim jims and nuts. The first few days I brought the nabisco mini snack bags, but no one was eating them and they get crushed. The nuts seemed to fill us up while waiting. If your going while it's hot, you seem to eat less anyway.

Mickey pretzels! We buy a big bag our first day in the parks ($2.49) and then refill a sandwich size baggie each day. This has got to be the best bargain in the parks and they haven't raised the price since we started doing this about 8 years ago! (Shh - hopefully Disney isn't listening...) ;)

Pringles makes flavored bread/pretzel sticks. The honey flavored is really really good. My kids love them
