I just wanted to check to see if we will be okay having some snacks in our backpack that we take through security? We are flying Southwest.

My parents are traveling with us and had a bad experience at security last time and are very concerned about everything this time!? So in order to make things smoother, I wanted to check to make sure they won't have problems.

My Dad is diabetic and needs to have some snacks with him. We are thinking granola bar, cheese cracker packets, etc. Thanks for any help!!!

Those are fine, they are not liquid.

Check the requirements on www.tsa.gov for the official rule. In general, if its a solid its fine. If its a liquid, its not.

Basically any snack that maintain it's form when taken out of its wrapping can go through security. Anything liquid or gel like cannot go through, or needs to be 3.4 ounces or less and put in your 3-1-1 bag. As a diabetic, your dad is allowed to take a reasonable amount of liquid, i.e. juice, but what you have listed sounds just fine and you should have absolutely no problem.

As long as the snacks are NOt liquids, bring as much food, Snacks as you would like. Just don't feed the TSA

Also no peant butter that is not on bread, cream cheese anything, fruit cups, dips, salsa's, etc. They consider this to be a threat. I have had all these confiscated in the past.

How about taking snacks that are in a ziploc..not original wrapping...like throwing animal crackers in a ziploc?
