Hey-we had no problem today-we brought in cheese crackers, pringles, beef jerkey, water with the little chrystal light packets. We will bring in more stuff tomorrow-they checked the bag but did not say a thing about any of it-there were backpacks everywhere!!!!!! Happy days are ahead!!
WE brought in gold fish in baggies or the individual bags, granola bars, raisins, crackers. Depending on the time of year just be careful in hotter weather of things that could melt. WE had 5 water bottles also in our bag and they sent us on in.
The official word from WDW is they don't allow food or drinks or any food outside coming into the parks but they won't say anything if they see it. They also do not allow and won't tolerate outside alchohol or drugs etc: We always bring food in and I even made sandwiches the first year and they said nothing. I do know they won't allow bigger coolers on wheels either. Someone else can double check on this but this is what I have been told. Also the drinks that are brought in can only be plastic not glass.
We always carry snacks. Mostly pretty much the same as others already posted. We sometimes carry sandwiches. We have a soft cooler that fits in the lockers. We love to eat at the restaurants in WDW, both counter service and table service. We don't always buy every meal the whole trip though. Sometimes we'll eat one meal at a reataurant and use the sandwiches for the other meal. Other times we'll just carry peanut butter sandwiches to tide us over between meals.
We took in fruit snacks, pretzles, and dry cereal in ziplocks, also, take bottled water and pouches to mix in. Any stand that has drinks on ice will give you a cup of ice if you ask. This way you don't have to take in a cooler.
We've never had a problem bringing in snacks or drinks.
We pack goldfish, granola bars, cheese crackers and bring a soft cooler with bottled water and juice boxes.
I am all about following the rules, having said that I am thrilled that they do let you bring food and drinks in. My kids are special needs children and have special food issues. KUDOS Disney!!!!!
Just to let you know-one of the guys that check your bags at Animal Kingdom said to the couple in front of us today-"I LOVE to see sandwiches" hehehehehe they are really great about the snacks-I guess they figure if they had to feed all the people in Disney they would never make it!!!!
Last time we brought small packets of baby carrots. With all the bad for you food we were eating it was nice to know that the kids were eating something good for them.
