Snacks and Drinks?

I have heard conflicting reports on taking bottled drinks and snacks into DL. Could someone clarify for me? I'm used to being able to take a backpack of granola bars, bottled water, bottled cokes, etc. in at WDW and carrying them freely throughout the day. However, I've also heard that bottles cannot be taken onto the rides.

Anyone got the official word on this? Would love to be able to keep costs down by doing this.

You should be just fine as long as you have no glass bottles or containers.

We always have backpack with about 4 water bottles and some snack bars. We have never been prevented from bringing it in. On the rides, the stuff is in the backpack zipped up.

DLR also sells a little bottle holder that clips on to your belt so I would think you could wear that on rides.

We have never had a problem either bringing water bottles and snacks......

I was told once that you were only allowed to bring in unopened water bottles...i'm assuming so that you don't stick vodka in it rather than water.

I've brought in bottled waters, fresh fruit, and other snacks and have never been told anything...

You should be fine!

Those who've said that bottles are prohibited were likely stopped for having glass baby bottles. Or they might have taken a Snapple in. Bottled water never comes in glass (unless its like pellegrino), so you should be perfectly fine.

Yep, unless it is glass, you should be fine. I was inspected today with a smorgasbord!! Okay, lunch. Bagels, fruit and bottled water. No problem!!

I ALWAYS have a plastic water bottle hanging on the outside of my bag and ride all rides with it. No problem.

Have fun!!

We take in snacks and bottled waters all the time. And they are not always sealed bottles of water either. And we take our bottles on rides too, you should have no problems.

Hope the OP does not mind if I tag onto this thread.....

Would we be allowed to bring in a small softsided cooler (lunch box size or 6 pack size) or will they only allow the food/drinks in a backpag or bag?
What has anyones experiences been?

Thanks

On some rides / shows they may ask you to put your drink away until you exit. Close it up and drink it when your out. :goodvibes

Coolers are generally discouraged, as they are along the lines of picnicking. They have lockers for this. You can bring all sorts of things in if in your backpack, bag, etc.... The "mkings" of lunch, is where the line seems to sit. (Ex: Sandwiches, no problem. Loaf of bread, mayo, head of lettuce, slices of cheese, package of turkey, not encouraged, could be stopped).

Dreams

I'm pretty sure the small soft sided coolers are ok but again they won't want you bringing sandwich fixings in, just the ready made sandwiches.

Thanks everybody! This answers my question. I wanted to be sure before I put in a grocery order for the hotel.

This helps soooo much!

Yeah, you don't want some yuppie sitting on the Matterhorn in front of you to be sipping his coffee, and then whooosh! down a drop, and the next thing you see is a wall of brown liquid coming at your face.
