WHAT AM I REALLY GOING TO EAT WHILE WE go TO WDW? Do any of you have any suggestions?

Here's a mini list of what I've come up with to take with us.
*Dried fruit
*bottled juice
*peanuts for protein
* ????
* ????

I'm not sure what your feelings about carbs are or how much room you have in your car for a cooler but we like to take grilled chicken sandwiches. You can lose the bread if you want or use tortillas. Good low fat protein source.

I don't know if you're counting points, or carbs or what. But here's a few of my favorite quick foods.

Kashi trail mix bars. They're only 2 pts on WW and they're loaded with fiber and protein. Sooo yummy & filling. I also carried these in my fanny pack at the parks.

Fat Free Pretzels aren't bad.

Yogurt Smoothies if you have a cooler.

Baked Doritos or Lays for when you want junk food. They're so tasty, and a much better alternative than regular chips.

POPCORN!!! Smart Pop 94% fat free. I eat the whole bag. You can proabably stop at any gas station with a food mart and use their microwave to pop it.

Pretty much every fast food restaurant has a grilled chicken sandwich. I like to get bbq sauce instead of whatever mayo or dressing they put on.

If you are counting points, or just want nutritional info for restaurants, you have to go to www.DWLZ.com and check out their restaurant listings. They have every place you can think of! My best advice is plan ahead what you're going to order and stick to it!

GOOD LUCK! HAVE FUN!

taeja -- what is your eating plan???

No offense, but am I supposed to have a plan? :rotfl2:
My eating plan (now and late) is to eat in moderation, low carbs, higher protein, fruits, and veggies, and little or no soda. And of course, lots of water.

We'll be taking our travel fridge w/us. I can store a couple fruits, store some trail mix, a jug of juice for the kids and some left over fast food/ salad for me.

I'm pretty sure I'll be paying more for eating healthier while on vacation, but isn't being healthy worth the price?

I just hate to waste my hard earned efforts from now to Sept. while we are traveling to and from FLA. Am I making sense? :crazy:

My husband and I take lots of car trips and try to bring healthy sandwiches with us (turkey meat, ww bread) and fruits. Sometimes eating fast food can upset my stomach since I don't eat it very often, and that's the last thing I need on a car trip.

How long is your trip there? On the way back I'd imagine you'll be forced to stop for food. Try to stock up on more healthy food in a grocery store first, but if you are forced to get fast food here are some 'better' options:

Grilled chicken sandwich (I really like the one at Carl's Jr (Hardees in other parts) with NO MAYO
Bean and cheese burrito
Plain hamburger or cheeseburger

Getting fries and sugary sodas is where the real damage can add up so just avoid them entirely.

Have a great trip!

We'll be driving 1,037 miles one way. That's a lot of temtations to avoid along the way. I know some how I'll get through it. I better!

Thanks for all the great suggestions every one. I really appreciate it.

My favorite for long car trips is Tootsie Pops - on WW they're 1 pt. But, you have to only suck on them & lick them, can't chew. They can last for HOURS.
