Hubby and I were looking at a date night at Epcot while the kids are at the kid's activity center at AKL (only one that is available) - rather than spend 60-90 minutes at a sit down restaurant, we are considering maybe a "snack around the world" type date so we can check out some of the countries - what are your favourite "grab and go" or quick service treats/foods to get while snacking around the world. Unfortunately our trip is before food and wine, so have to stick to the standards....

Sausage, sauerkraut, and potato salad in the German pavilion.

There are SO many choices!!! It's a great idea, but I'd suggest you look at the QS menus - and see if there is anything that is a "must-do" for either of you - and go from there. When we do this - we typically end up getting one entree and split it at 2-3 places. And get dessert - typically in France. My significant other doesn't like "snacks" so to speak - so for us - it tends to be that we order a "plated entree" at the QS places. Though the one time - he really just wanted french fries when we were in America..... boring... (at least they were super hot and fresh!). I am the one who typically plans where we might eat - and then he ruins that plan by suggesting something different when he feels like it. Luckily - I know him well enough to expect this to happen - and ultimately - it works out and we are both happy - though sometimes we aren't sharing everything because I saved room for X in the future and he didn't! It's definitely usually a way too many calories in compared to being burned that day! But it works!:love2:

We also do this, when we are Drinking Around the World (but most of the time, we do both over a couple of days, as we get just too full!) Here are a few tips:

1. Try to limit the sweet snacks - the sugar in the heat can really create a hang-over type feeling.
2. Have lots of water.
3. Enjoy the snacks that you might not regularly try, so you get the cultural experience that IS Epcot.
4. We like the inexpensive, personalized passports you can get online (google Showcase Snacking) to keep track of our snacks.
5. Keep photos of your excursion. Since it is an adult visit, maybe a kiss in front of a landmark in each country?

Favorite Snack options:
Mexico - probably something from the counter service to share, since these tend to be bigger;
Norway - Schoolhouse Bread (one of the sweet snacks I must have);
China - We like the potstickers;
Germany - A pretzel is a must;
Italy - This is where we go in the wine bar and sit for a bit - we love the meat and cheese platters;
US - Not my favorite snacking location, but we probably do the turkey leg most;
Morocco - The skewers are delicious;
Japan - Sushi, for sure;
France - Maybe a crepe?
UK - Scotch egg in Rose & Crown;
Canada - There is nothing available except popcorn, unless things have changed lately.

Envious that you have a trip coming up!

Kring-La Bakery in Norway is a favorite. THey have good sandwhiches and pastries. I don't know if they still have the smoked salmon, but it is great! The School Bread is also a must try.

Nachos from the Mexico QS stand, a pretzel and something chocolate/caramel from Germany, and school bread in Norway are our favorites. We also love the cronut but that's at the Refreshment Port, not one of the countries.

I've always wanted to try a Scotch egg, but never had a chance. Can you just order one at the bar with a pint? I don't think there will be time for a full sit-down meal at the Rose & Crown.
