SNA Take off

The take off at SNA is different than other airports in that, rather than a long roll down the runway gradually gaining speed, they spool up the engines while stopped at the end of the runway, release the brake, and off you go. Then, as others have mentioned, after a brief steep climb, there is a significant power reduction as you fly over the residential areas of OC. I don't think there is anything physically disturbing about it - it's more of a psychological thing. I see plenty of people snoozing away through takeoff. :)

Interesting thread, as I have never noticed the takeoff out of SNA being any different from others :confused3

another vote here for SNA. Any difference in the take off lasts a few moments comparred to a much longer drive from LAX. John Wayne is really small and easy to navigate. I think it has many pluses over LAX. It might even be worth throwing up to not drive through LA:confused3

Good luck
