Smugglers Notch Vermont in summer??

Just wondering if anyone has ever vacationed here and what they thought of it. Never to early to start thinking about next summer. DH has said no more summer Disney trips.

We have never been to the Smugglers Notch resort but we just spent a week near there (in Stowe). We have vacationed in Vermont for at least the past 10 years and we always rent a house for a week. The Smugglers Notch / Stowe area is a great place to vacation.

We stayed in the Smuggler's Notch resort for a week about 6 years ago. It was beautiful in the summer. The drive through the mountains itself was worth the trip--it truly looks like an enchanted forest!

Anyways, during the vacation, we went to Vermont Teddy Bear company, Ben and Jerry's, and rented bikes to ride through the bike trails in Stowe. We went on a few of the optional trips that Smuggler's Notch offers--a lunch canoe trip, for instance. It was a great vacation--and off-season, so much fun.

The resort has a lot of planned activities for the kids. . .late night singalongs, barbeques, etc. There are lots of daytime activities, too.

We had an EXCELLENT time. And, everyone was so nice!

I have never "vacationed" at Smugglers Notch, however I am originally from Vt and when I get to go home I love the Vt summers (alot cooler than the Lone Star State-lol).

That really is spectacular -- hard to believe that it's real. And, that's something you can't do in the winter -- they close the road in early November.
