Just bought a smoothie maker today and it's so great. I've already had Daquaries and a Pina Colada (non alcoholic). I can't wait to try some more recipes.

Could you please tell me what brand you bought. Does it blend frozen fruit well or did you just use a mix? Thanks for your help!

I'm curious abouth this too. Is it worth it to buy a separate machine, or can the blender do as good a job?

The brand name is Back to Basics and it's waaaayyyy better than my very good blender. I can't even believe how fantastic is blends large ice cubes, frozen fruit and vegetables. They had two models, one was a 500 watt and the one I got is a 600 watt. I'm glad I got the upgrade for only $10 more. I got it at Target and it was $59.00. I also bought a 3 pack of mixers, but I've found I can just buy the cheap daquari, pina colada, marqarita mixers at the grocery store and just add ice and various fruits. This are gallon size mixers for around $3.99 and they are very good, especially if you spice them up.

I bought the Pro 700 and I have to say I am a little disappointed! The bottom kept vibrating right off while I was using it and I got strawberry smoothie everywhere! I brought it back, but I am afraid that the new one will do the same thing! I looked on epinions.com and a lot of people have had this problem. I have a black and decker blender (14 speed w/ ice crusher button) that I got at Target for $30 and it works better. I am thinking of bringing mine back....:(
