One thing that totally drives me crazy is seeing teens lighting up. I have so many kids in my school that do it and to me it is the stupidiest thing anyone can do. I even have friends that smoke and I tell them that they are not going to do it around me and that it is silly for them to be doing it and I wish that they would stop. I do understand that it is addictive, but with all the information we have about how negative cigarettes are for you now I can't believe the numbers of teens that I still starting up. Another thing is all the role models celebs are smoking. I see it a lot from living where I do. Hayden Panatierre, Paris & Nicky Hilton, Brittney Spears, Jamie Lynn Spears, Lindsey Lohan and many many other celebs a lot of young girls and guys look up to. I drives me crazy. My rant is over.

I was just wondering what you all felt on this topic.

Ridiculous. Why would they put themselves through that? They caught two kids last week in the boy's bathroom smoking...like they weren't going to find out.

Im like "Woah ok...." and i like ran... and i never spoke to her again

I told her it was bad..but nope...she wouldnt listen she said "No you have to try its soo good" and thats why i ran

Why are people STILL smoking? Do they have some sort of death wish? Its been stated for a LONG TIME now that SMOKING IS BAD.

I'm allergic to it.
But he never does it around me.
He's trying to stop...I think.
He wears one of those patch things.

I HATE smoking. It smells disgusting and everytime I smell it I want to throw up. A girl when I was in 7th grade smoked. Then she moved.

Alot of kids have been getting in trouble for having lighters.
I will never smoke...I probably couldn't anyway since I'm allergic to the smoke.

It's awful.
My dad used to smoke, and I'm so glad he quit.
He hasn't smoked in forever, and that makes me so happy.

A lot of kids in my school smoke or do drugs, no matter how many videos in health saying don't do drugs and don't smoke, teens still smoke. I wish there was another way to get kids to stop smoking. They don't look cool...at all. They're just rotting themselves and making themselves smell bad.
I think smoking is a slow suicide IMO.

It's absolutely disgusting! I saw a girl about the age of 16 or 17 smoking. It amazes me that people can handle that cancer getting into their lungs. Do they not realize that it's extremely unhealthy? IT'S NOT COOL TO SMOKE YOU FREAKING IDIOTS!!!!!

Well, we are watching A LOT of anti-smiking vids in health I just hope it gets into kids heads, I don't want my school to be known as " that school where they caught that kid smoking "

I won't lie about it, I've smoked my fair share of cigarettes. I had stressful times and I've used nicotine to calm me down and help me through it. I've now found new ways to cope. It happens. People shouldn't be looked down upon because of it. I understand the "doing it to be cool" but here's the thing, the people that do that don't even smoke properly. The suck it into their mouth, not their lungs and just blow it out. It's kind of funny actually.

There are alot of kids at my school who smoke and i'm only in the 8th grade i find it so sad and disgusting most of my cousins smoke except for a few and so i'm around it alot and i think about what they have done to there life and how they are going to be in the long run its so sad

people always smoke at my school... i agree.. its absolutely disgusting.. i actually find it extremely repulsive, and i get paranoid when people smoke around me haha.. i cover my nose and run away lol.. but i have a lot of friends that smoke.. cigs and pot... i always tell them that its bad, and they know its bad, but its an addiction.. i know it must be helluva hard to quit, so i cant really blame them 100% for it... i just wished they had more motivation to do so..

not to mention, smoking is a major turn off for me haha... id see a real hot girl, and id be like "ZOMG HAWTNESS!!".. than i see her light one up and im all like "nvm >_<"... its just an ugly thing

Well there hasn't been much of her on the big network Gossip shows like E and stuff like that, but from living in this area you see first hand and you also see on the local newsthe goings on and well Hayden has been seen and reported in doing some things that resemble Lindsey and some others. I am not saying drugs with Hayden(like LIndsey) but alcohol and smoking and public drunkeness OH Yes. Just remember just because you don't see the names on Entertainment Tonight everynight or E it doesn't mean they are always goody goody. She has been been seen frequenting atround the club scene with Paris Hilton. Not a real good one to be around.

I hope I didn't come off as sounding too offensive in my post. It was not intended to be that way at all. I understand that Nicotine is an addictive drug and when people start teens included it is very hard to stop just like other drugs that are addictive. I didn't mean no harm against smokers, like I said I have friends who are smokers. True I don't like their habit and I don't want them doing it around me and I wish they would stop, but to stop being their frien would be stupid on my part.

Well Hayden I don't know if she is old enough to drink or not yet you have to be 21, but I think she is old enough to buy cigarettes which she does smokes. It actually seems like most of the young celebs smokes. I think they say it is how they handle their stress.

Also young girls especially have been found to smoke because they want to stay thin. I guess it helps with that for some reason I don't know.

We are doing this im my Psych class atm. Its amazing how many people will go out of the lecture and light up! After seeing all these gross pictures and being told that it is the only product on the market that deliberatly kills people when used as directed. Its so stupid!

I know Nictoine is addictive, but it doesn't 'de-stress people'. It actually increases heart rate and blood pressure. People who think it is de-stressing is due to their dependance on the nictoine, not how it actually effects your system.

The smoking ban has just come into place in England, not allowing smoking in any enclosed public space, and going out has become so much nicer. You don't have to worry about stinking of smoke after a night out or how much damage your doing by passive smoking!

Not to mention the cost, which is just ridiculous!
