We have 4 rooms booked for Oct 5-14 at ASSP and we all want to be together, hoping to get the North end of the Football Field in the Touchdown building---I have my form already to fax on the 1st of October---but now here is the problem, 2 of the rooms are smokers and the other 2 rooms are non smokers! I called down to ASSP today to see how close the rooms are to each other, smoking and non smoking, and they said that they are in totally seperate buildings! Is this true? Is maybe building 10 for non smoking and building 7 for smokers? Or is it that the buildings in the way back are for smokers???? I was really hoping that maybe the 3rd floor was just some smoking rooms and the non smokers on another floor in the same building.
Has anyone had this problem???
Is the entire resort outside smoke free?
I know that being a non smoker myself, I will not stay in a smoking room due to bad allergies, and our smokers are decent enough not to smoke in a non smoking room!
Any suggestions????????

Are you sure the smokers in your group will insist on smoking IN their rooms? We travel occasionally with a smoker and he said he'd no more smoke in his hotel room than in his own bedroom. Said he smokes but he doesn't like smelling it when he sleeps either. He steps outside the building and smokes, then puts the 'butt' in an outside trashcan.

If the smokers in your group must smoke inside then requesting rooms in buildings as close as possible to each other may be the best you can hope for. Perhaps you can have a special spot for meeting up. The distance between bldgs. may be better for your allergies anyway.

Usually you can be across from each other...buildings in the same area are usually one smoking and one not. Please, though, if they are smokers, get smoker buildings for them. I hate being in the same building with an outside smoker, and having the smoke get sucked into my room by the air conditioner, and having to always walk through the smoke. I also hate having the ashtrays brought over from the smoking areas to the non smoking areas so they can smoke outside their rooms...that means I don't get to enjoy watching my grandsplay on the football field, because when I try to sit outside of my non smoking building, several people are usually also out there smoking.
IMO the entire area around the non smoking building should be smoke free so that I don't have to try and suck in fresh air around the smoke to relieve my asthma. Believe me..the whole outside area at the All Stars is a smokers paradise..around the entire pool and everywhere people walk. The worse part is when the kids are in bare feet and pick up butts on their feet (not saying your people would even think of leaving them there..but someone does). Sorry to sound bitter about this, but we had a serious problem in January at the AllStar Sports with smoke (my room was not a haven..it just kept getting sucked in from our next door neighbors who smoked outside all the time, because, as she said, she wanted a non smoking room, because they smell better), and the same thing at POR in May. There we were upstairs, and had to walk to the stairs through two rooms of outside smokers, and then down the stairs past the girls who gathered there to smoke. In a non smoking building. In August we didn't run into the problem at POR, but it's prob because they were dead and not any people around our room.

After reading your post, I pulled out my Passporter book. They list all the buildings that are smoking. Looks like in All Star Sports the buildings that are smoking are: One section of Hoops Hotel, One section of Home Run Hotel, And one section of Surf's Up, with Surf's Up being a preferred view section also...
When I say section, it looks like there are two buildings to each themed section and one is smoking and one is not.
Not sure if any of the web sites, including Passporter show this on thier sites.
I have never stayed at All Star yet, but when I was a Caribbean Beach last April I took note that a section like Trinadad North consited of three buildings, one being a smoking building, the other two were not.
Maybe you can request to be in the same section, but different buildings.
Hope I was of some help.
