i recently sent an email to DLP about the smoking that was in queues etc as i thought there was a smoking ban in the parks. However, the email said

'We are constantly working to provide a comfortable environment for all our guests. As you may be aware, French legislation prevents Disneyland Resort Paris from enforcing an entirely non-smoking policy, although we have introduced many measures to limit this, whilst working within the confines of the law. Indeed, in compliance with newly enacted French legislation, all Resort restaurants, bars, lobbies, as well as Hurricanes Night Club, are non-smoking since 1 January 2008. In addition, cigarettes are not on sale in either Disneyland Park or Walt Disney Studios Park and we actively discourage smoking in closed queue lines. In open queue lines, we cannot prevent smoking, but Cast Members and signs do encourage guests to not smoke, for the overall benefit of those around them'

So no chance of having a smoke free disneyland then!

What is an "open" or "closed" queueline ?
I assume they mean indoors and outdoors.
Oh well I suppose it's just upto everyone to complain loudly, I still stand by what I've always said, nobody is that desperate for a ciggie, they're just plain ignorant and deserve to be treated as such.
When I was a smoker I never smoked in the house, hotel rooms, restaurants, car or in fact anywhere my children or anyone else's were and I don't expect anyone else to.

i think closed is indoor bits or covered bits like btm or phantom manor

Give it some time. Here in the states smoking restrictions continue to grow, thus limiting the areas that smokers can smoke in. We were skeptical when these smoking restrictions first started, but over time there has been much acceptance by everyone. I feel over time that DLRP will be able to convince everyone who smokes to do so only in the designated areas. Until then, just remember that what is happening now is still an improvement over what it was last year at this time.

You are right. Or try to remember 10 years ago were you could smoke everywere. In all the restaurants, hotels, lobbies and bars.

Hubby and I found this a big problem when we were there in April. None of the CMs were enforcing it, especially not in lines. Also it made it impossible for us to sit outside in any of the eating areas because people constantly chuffing on a *** in all directions. To me its a BIG downside to DLP.
