Smiley Face Cloud

I have a question that I bet someone here will know the answer to........

When we went on our first WDW trip back in Sept. 2007, we stayed at SSR and one day I noticed a smiley face cloud up in the sky. At the time I just thought, " oh, how cute, this is such a happy place." Then a few months ago I saw a picture of the same cloud on one of the Disney websites.

So, what is the significance of this smiley face "cloud"? Does Disney pay to have it put up there or is it someone else? Just curious. Thanks!

I do not know for sure who does it but sure it's not Disney. I saw it say GOD and JESUS too.

A photographer might have noticed it at the same time as you did.

But what I think is much more likely is the advertising gurus created the image for the urpose of including it in an advertisement. This stuff was possible years and years ago, but now with photo-editing software your average 10-year old could whip it up in just under 3 minutes.

There would be no way for Disney to pay someone to put it up in the sky. Yes, there is something called skywriting, but winds destroy those designs after several minutes at most.

Yep,

He was sky writing this past Sunday. We were at Raglan Road sitting out on the patio and there was a giant smiley face in the sky.
