Ugh - the weather in Sydney is HORRIBLE!! :sad2:

Today a friend of mine gave my daughter a Smiggle Travel Journal and it's gorgeous!! My DD will turn 7 the week before we leave and she is really into homework and reading and writing (hope she stays that way)!!

Anyway, it's lovely and there are lots of different pages in it to draw things and to write about where you are and who you saw - there are even pages to write what you bought and ate! I think that she will love it, and even if we don't complete it until we get home (I send home huge emails everyday - so we can refer back to them) - it will be a lovely keepsake to look back on when we are bored and have no holiday to look forward to!!

The weather in Wellington is also AWFUL!! And it's the first week of our July school holidays so that's a shame.

The Smiggle journals sound great and I'll have a look when we head up the mall these holidays. :thumbsup2

My daughter gave me one of those for mothers day - I loved it -although I told her she has to write in it, as I have dreadful handwriting.

Don't send that Sydney weather up or that Welly weather across, ok??

Will check the travel journals out though!

:thumbsup2 Thanks for posting about these i did not even know they existed:)
I rang my local store and they put some on hold for me we went and picked them up last night the kids  them i am seriously thinking of going back and buying 1 for myself:rotfl2:
We got 2 of each the older 2 boys thought the are we there yet one was 2 young for them but that is what i would get myself i think they are so cute:yay:

I'm really looking forward to helping my daughter with hers, it will be a lovely keepsake. :)

PS....weather is still awful! :sad2:

I am not sure if you have seen the "guide to the magic for kids". It is a travel journal just for WDW. We had 3 shipped to the resort last year and the boys filled them out at night after they were ready for bed. It was perfect for wind down time and they love looking through them now.

My nieces and nephews are addicted to Smiggle. I'll have to keep an eye out for these next time I'm in there, although my kiddos will probably still be too small to write in them when we go.

I love the Guide to the Magic collection, thanks austraveler. I was already going to get DD the Smiggle diary. Looks like she may get both!

How old were your boys Austraveler? I have three girls aged 6, 10 and 13. I'm sure the Guide to the Magic would be good for my youngest two but I'm not sure about my 13 year old - might it be too babyish?

Thanks for the Smiggle Journal Reviews - Just had to pop out and get DD14 one - She loves it, then showed her sister DD16 so now have to make return journey and buy another one....:cheer2:

They were 6, 9 and 11. My eldest loved it but he is not overly mature. My 24 year old sister n law is getting one though for her trip next month. I think if you daughter still likes stickers, lists and making decisions (favourite food of the day etc) she will like it. Make sure you ship them to Florida rather than home as postage to home was extortionate.
