Smart to pay off full before discounts release?

Have a trip booked at BC for oct next year and me and my gf plan to have it paid off as quick as possible. My question is what happens if we pay it off in full and then a discount comes out for the room and we manage to get it applied to our package? This is all predicated on if BC is even included in any kind of offer which i know disney has been cutting back on more and more.

Disney will refund you the difference if you pay off early, then a discount is offered for your room type and you call to have it applied.

As previous poster stated, if you modify your reservation and the cost comes out lower, any excess amount will be refunded. In my case, it only took a couple of days to get the refund back to my card.
