We just returned from a stay in a HA studio at Bay Lake Towers. We had expected a queen bed and the usual pullout couch; however, both my husband and I are sure that the bed was a regular full size (although we didn't measure). We slept in a full for years and have had a queen for about 5 years now and definitely can tell the difference! We don't need the wheelchair space but definitely need the grab bars in the bathroom. The kitchenette cabinets did not appear wheelchair-friendly. There was very little space between the bed and the wall, maybe 12 inches at most after we pushed it over as far as it could go, and it was hard for me to get in and out without hitting the wall. The bathroom, however, was huge with a beautiful roll in shower as well as a tub with shower. Is it possible that they used the smaller bed to accommodate the smaller space in the living area due to the space used by the bathroom? Although we did manage to get along okay in the smaller bed, we sure would have preferred the extra space. Maybe we will have to go back to one bedrooms after all, that would be SUCH a shame though!
Just worried that other studios we reserve in the future might have the smaller bed, which would not make us too happy. Has anyone else found anything like this in other resorts?
