small world refurbishment history question

I am planning a DL trip from January 3 - January 7. There had been a rumor on one website (although it has now been removed from that site) that It's a Small World would be closed to take down holiday decor starting on January 3.

Do any of the DL veterans on this board remember when Small World went dark in the past?

I went on the original Small World at the World's Fair in Queens, NY when I was 3 years old. It is one of my earliest memories. I have some flexability in planning this trip and would probably change my dates rather than miss it.

It usually goes dark at the end of the New Year's week.

This year is a little off because Jan 1 is so early in the week, but I think you'll be ok. Most schools are out for their winter break until Jan 8. I'm pretty sure the holiday decorations won't come down until then.

Last year small world closed on January 4th. Previous years it was around the 10th or so. According to mouseplanet which is usually pretty accurate it's supposed to go down in 'early' January. The are posting their park update tomorrow so maybe the exact dates will be mentioned then. Doesn't look like the calendar on the DL website is up yet well at least not the ones with the events and closures listed.
