I just came across this article. Has anyone heard of the addition of Disney Characters throughout the ride?

There has recently been a thread about this here, maybe someone can link you to it. Most feel the same, being weary of too many changes.

I'm actually excited about the changes. I don't think it will take away from the ride by putting in some disney characters here and there, along with a section for the USA. Although I will miss the rain area, the USA should have an area IMO.

If it was more then this I might be weary too. I think it's going to be similar to the POTC changes. I was really upset when I first heard about them, as it's my favorite ride! But I actually love the new changes to it. So I'm hopeful this will be the same way.

I just don't like that they are going against a direct Walt decision, but that has happened time and time again. Sometimes going against Walt's ideas worked better but more often than not it didn't.

Change, it is just the way things are.

I couldn't agree with you more Monkey Monkey. Of all the Disney rides I was looking forward to when we go in Feb/09 IASW was on the top of the list. I remember it from I was a child, and am very disapointed that they are commercializing this ride . It makes me wonder what brilliant plans (not!) they are going to come up with the other original rides, such as the Tiki Room, etc. Poor Walt is indeed rolling over in his grave!
