Small wedding venue in DC? Only 6 guests

Young couple wanting to get married somewhere other than courthouse. The wedding will be very small, only 6 guests. They are looking for a space that is small. They do not want to get married in a large room or chapel that will be mostly empty. Does anyone familiar with Washington DC have any suggestions? There will not be a reception. The group will just go out to eat.

I'd get married here if I had the chance. It's the coolest house I've ever been in and the rooms are very small and perfect for that size wedding. And it would be a ton of fun to explore the house (I've been to an event there and you get free run of the place).

Of course I have no idea of their budget but it could be worth checking into.

The Daughters of the American Revolution library and headquarters has a fantastic room where they have weddings. Small, intimate, and it's neat to be able to stroll near the tomes! I have been to 2 weddings there before.

Atrium of the National Portrait Gallery. It is actually a food court. So if they have no budget, they could probably crash the site have the wedding and then order some lunch. I mean it is a nice food court.

You cannot hold a private event there without permission:

It would be pretty embarrassing to "crash" this site and have your wedding party thrown out.

OP - There are many places in DC to hold a wedding rather than the courthouse or a religious venue; try doing a Google search. For such a small number of people, you might look into a restaurant where you could have the ceremony and eat in the same place.

When I got married we had the ceremony itself at a neighborhood park and a reception the next weekend. There were 18 of us and we just chose a gazebo in a neighborhood that I had seen in passing. No decorations or anything. This was a lovely park with a duck pond, fountain, 2 gazebos, flower garden... I figured at least one spot would be unoccupied long enough for us to get married & take some photos. We went out to eat after in the party room at Carinos, but a party of 8 wouldn't even have to do that.

Some of the outdoor monuments would be really pretty though I don't know what allowed. The little DC aquarium could be an interesting site if they are into something more quirky.

You need a permit to get married at a national monument:

Note - I had to make spaces in the first URL as this site doesn't like the word e x a m i n e r.
