When you need to change your baby, please do not do so at the table of the restaurant. There are changing stations in the restrooms.

Yesterday, DD and I went to the T-Rex restaurant at DTD for lunch. We were seated across from a large booth. Five adults were seated in the booth along with a baby. The babies stroller we positioned beside the booth.

During the meal, the mother proceeded to change her baby on the seat of the booth. While the smell wasn't appealing to other diners in the area, that would not have been too bad had they not tried to stuff the dirty diaper under the booth. Yes, the father attempted to shove the dirty diaper up under the booth. Fortunately, it would not fit. Eventually, he got up and carried it back to the restroom to throw it away. I was in shock!

That is a pet peeve of mine - finding diapers in parkings lots, along streets, etc. Or changing diapers in inappropriate places. That's just downright NASTY!!!!!!!!!!! I have 3 kiddos and have never done any such thing! It only takes a little extra time! Unbelievable.

That same thing happened to me when I was a waitress in college. Thank God it wouldn't fit because I bet they put the server trough alot also. Man thats just wrong for anyone to expect that someone should throw away your kids dirty diaper. Bet they didn't tip well.

GROSS!

Do people really think we want to sit in a seat where thier child's poop is? This just seems like common curtesy to me.

Wait...am I understanding correctly? Someone changed a POOPY diaper in the booth in a restaurant?!

Why, oh God why, would someone do that short of some emergency, which they were clearly not in as they were able to somehow get that diaper to the restroom? Jeez some people!

Last year I saw a mom & dad change their toddler's dirty (and not just wet) diaper on the couch in the beautiful lounge area outside O'hanas at the Poly - not twenty paces away from the lady's room, which has a changing station. It was HORRIFYING. What were they thinking? I won't ever be able to sit in that area again.

Same goes for letting your child sit on a table or food service counter. Years ago (OK, like 25 years ago) I worked at McDonald's when I was in high school. It used to gross me out when people would come up to the counter and sit their child down while they ordered. Many times the child would be wearing just a diaper. Other parents would stand the child up on the counter in their bare feet or dirty shoes. I wanted to say, "Hello! We pass food over that counter!" It still grosses me out when I see diapered kids sitting on tables and counters. Some people just don't think!

 I would not have been able to eat after that. I've seen many people changing diapers in shopping carts at Walmart and Target. That disgusts me, but in a restaurant booth!? That's the topper. The lack of common sense and common consideration is flabbergasting, not to mention the health hazard.

Eww..changing right there at the booth in the restaurant??? So the mother didn't wash her hands before getting back to the food?? Ok..so maybe she did use those instant antibacterial wash, but still....

OH I would've HAD to say something! :scared1:

And believe me I would have. (Being a teacher, I have no fear about saying anything to people). I would've spoken nicely, but that family would've heard from me :sad2:

I was at a restaurant and my SIL did this same thing. I told her that was inappropriate to change your baby's diaper at the table. She said, who cares, I will never see these ppl again.......:scared1:

Though I don't think I've ever changed my kids diaper at a restaurant booth, but I have changed her in the trunk of my car. The way I figure it - I know whats been on the floor of my trunk better than whats been on a diaper changing station - with or without a mat! A lady in a car stopped to see what I was doing, and once I picked up my DD she honked the horn and clapped..... don't quite know why, but I guess she thought it was funny! All I knew is if I didn't change her, she would have wet pants by the time we got home.

I've changed my baby at work on a pad under my desk. Only because there is NO changing table or counter space in the bathroom and I wasn't kneeling down on the bathroom floor. My coworkers were kind and understanding.
But at a table? No wonder people are getting norwalk. I think we'll carry wet one's and wipe down the table every time we sit to eat.

A couple of years ago, a lady changed her baby on a table at the Earl of Sandwich. Fortunately, a manager saw it. He said something to her. She left in a huff and he immediately had a person over disinfecting the table. Yes, some folk just don't think beyond themselves.

I have never seen that and am totally shocked that someone could be that rude to do something like that!

I have however witnessed a woman change her baby in her lap while on an airplane!

I know that the bathrooms on planes are small and all but I just found it rude!she had the aisle seat and i had the aisle seat next to her. not to mention the other people sitting next to her the guy(had the window seat) and his wife(was in the middle). It was not a pee diaper either! YUCKO!
