We are taking our daughter to WDW for the first time in January - she'll be celebrating her 3rd birthday while we are there. I'd like to treat her to a few desserts - especially on her bday (she isn't supposed to have a lot of sugar [not just because she is a kid but she is very hyper]). Are there any places that sell small sized cupcakes or other fun small treats? I think we will be at Epcot on her bday and are staying at AKL-Kidani.

Thanks!

All I can think of is kids size ice cream treat (cup or cone) in MK at ice cream parlor next to Plaza restaurant at the end of main street. Sorry not better help, we usually share adult sized treats=better selection

If you will be in EP, I would poke around the shops in WS for smaller desserts or candies. Karamel Kuche in Germany is fun and you could buy some caramel popcorn or bagged candies so you can control portion size. The Twinings shop in the UK also has candies. Les Halles in France has fantastic pastries - perhaps share or just cut into quarters to control the portion size? Typical, stand-alone desserts in WDW tend to be on the larger size, so sharing may be the way to go?

Sugar and hyperactivity is a myth. While I do believe refined sugar is very bad for children, the idea that it makes them hyper has been dis proven. That being said, there are lots of kid sized dessert options. You could also share full sized options. We do that a lot at Disney. The ice cream sandwich at the Plaza is a favorite for us to split. Its 3 scoops of ice cream and 2 large cookies.

At AKL, the Mara quick service has zebra domes. They are VERY good and come 3 to a package. We will split those too.

Thanks all! We are both lactose intolerant but I will look for vegan/lactose free ice cream. The cupcakes in WDW are adorable, I just (personally) find there to be way too much icing - even for an adult. I also have a reaction to too much sugar (and we've noticed a huge difference in being aware of it with her) so I'd rather be cautious just to enjoy our time.

The zebra domes are a great idea - I forgot about those! I also just remembered there is a festival in Epcot (Fesitval of Arts or smtg?) that has food stands that might have smaller portions or things easy to split!

The counter service in Norway still has the 3 mini Frozen themed cupcakes.

If you plan on a character meal, Crystal Palace (Winnie the Pooh and gang) has the cutest little desserts!!! Bite size!!! Some it is a character meal \buffet you would be charged for the whole buffet.

the only other thing, is to do what others have suggested, buy a cupcake or treat and share. We share all snacks by three.

My son had a kid meal at coral reef that included a normal sized cupcake that he loved. it was not the giant with tons of icing specialty sized ones they sell for $7 or 8 or whatever they are now but just what I'd consider a normal cupcake. He loved the meal too. I like to book coral reef right at opening for an early lunch and show up early to request a table on the tank and you will get it for sure, if not right on the tank definitely right across from it.
