Small disappointments

When you pick the line with the most thorough bag inspector on the planet.

I encountered just such an inspector at the IG entrance to Epcot the week before last. I started to feel like they should have pulled a privacy curtain around us while he was probing.

Mine was when Maelstrom closed early due to "ISSUES" on our last day of our trip and we didn't get to ride it because it shut down a few months later. :(

When you are so looking forward to "The King" cupcake at Pop but it's no longer offered

The mean stares and hateful comments at the bus stop. DH has to use a scooter because he had surgery on his knees and still can't walk much without severe pain

The King cupcake is gone? Crud.

The other part stinks even more -- my sympathies.

99% of every post here is a first world problem. It's a Disney message board. By definition, almost any concern or question anyone has about vacationing in Disney World is a first world problem. Pointing that out on this thread in particular is redundant.

Seriously. We need the pp to come back and post the Debbie downer feline aids joke again.

Our last trip my youngest was 6. Our first day we were in MK & he so wanted to ride Space Mountain. DH didn't want him to (even though he just met the height requirement). He thought it was too rough & just thought he wasn't ready for it yet. While DH & my 2 older boys went on I stayed with a very unhappy, very grumpy DS. Later in the trip DH changed his mind after seeing DS on EE, RR & ToT (all of which he loved). On our last day before heading to the airport we had a few hours in MK. We promised DS he could go on SM. We had fast passes & were ready. They got in line & when they were just about to get on, the ride breaks down. DH asked a CM about the problem & they said it was probably going to be down for a while, possibly all day. DS was so sad. I felt so bad for him. Needless to say SM will be the first ride we go on when we get back there. DS is 9 now but he still talks about that. At least now he can laugh about it.

When I had booked the number one thing that my daughter has been wanting to do (Gospel Brunch at House of Blues) for a surprise trip for her 16th birthday and I received a call about a month later saying it was going to be cancelled for that weekend. I was so disappointed that I felt like crying. She has been begging to do that for a couple of years now and I was so excited for her when I booked it.

- when you keep trying to get into your assigned room, only to find out it is already occupied.
This made me think of another one. When you check out of your resort on your departure day, but have a late flight so you do a little park stuff and then head back to your resort, grab a drink, and sit in the lobby near the fireplace (because, of course, you are at Wilderness Lodge, right?) and then you realize that there is a decent chance that someone else has checked in and currently in YOUR room. Is it ridiculous, yes. Does it still bother me? Yes.

Also, this past October when my husband decided he really wanted to stay at Contemporary. It's a great hotel, but Wilderness Lodge is my favorite and we shared a ME bus with the. When we pulled up to Wilderness Lodge first, I felt disappointed that we weren't getting off. This is, of course, not to say that I didn't love our beautiful view of Magic Kingdom from our balcony at Contemporary. It just wasn't my lodge.

We just returned from a fabulous trip to WDW. Our only annoyance was discovering Miracle Whip was actually in the mayonaise dispensor at a few QS locations. Miracle Whip is NOT mayo and should not be labelled as such. Yes, a minor disappointment but truly annoying for a couple of mayonaise fans. :crazy2:

Have to chime in....

....AND especially when you are stuck behind the clueless guest who doesn't comprehend, "Please open ALL the compartments of ALL your bags" and you realize said person is carrying a bag inside a bag with many compartments to both!

and why do I ALWAYS queue up behind the people who can't recall which finger they used at the gate?

That would be a nasty surprise!

See, for me that would be a great surprise! I much prefer Miracle Whip over mayo. Plain mayo tastes like greasy whipped eggs, imho.

When the car in behind you cuts off. So, you are now starting the new aisle in the parking lot, this make you the last car in the last aisle in the parking lot. By the time you get to the tramcar you forget to check where you are parked. You do not realize it until you are leaving the park at night.:crazy2:
