Small camera case on belt?

I"ve read a lot about the 3-prong clasp bags and the lockers but I have another idea and was wondering if anyone has used this or seen this allowed on rides…

My husband has a nylon camera case (probably 6x4) that has loops on the back where you thread your belt through. His phone will easily fit in that, along with key card.

I have smaller one that has a short 3-prong clasp that you either loop around your belt or through the belt loop. I've been known to wear that on my wrist but assume I'd have to put in on the belt instead for rides.

Thoughts? Hate to go buy a waist pack if these will work!

I wore a small waist pack like a belt and had my camera case hooked on to it. Never had a problem.
