Small, boxed Christmas Tree as checked luggage?

I've never had anything other than luggage as checked luggage. Is there anything special I have to do with this. It will be a 4' pre-lit tree in a longish narrow box. I'm flying SW so I shouldn't have to worry about baggage fees.

Anyone ever done this? I'm not sure why I'm concerned, but I worry about small details (especially things that are unfamiliar).

This will be fine. Just make sure it meets the checked bag measurements so you don't have to pay for oversized luggage.
