It has been awhile since I posted about Allyson, so I thought I would give you a small update. For those of you who are not familiar with this, Allyson is my 11 year old niece who has a rare type of children's cancer and has been seeking treatment for the last 10 months. Anyway.....
The good news is that the chemotherapy is almost over. She goes to the city on Mother's day and begins her last triple round of chemo on Monday. As this is the very last of the chemo, they expect it to be a doozy, so they are expecting two bad weeks from this and then trying to move on to a normal life. They will be doing some final tests, but at this point they think they have gotten all the cancer. She will need to follow up with the doctors every three weeks for a while and then the visits move to every 6 months, so there is a lot to look forward to. Additionally when this is all finished Allyson will finally get her new puppy and the final arrangements for her Make-A-Wish trip are in the process for this summer, she is so excited.
Again, to the many of you that have prayed for Allyson, sent Allyson cards and gifts, thank you from the bottom of my heart. There is finally a light at the end of the tunnel and we just pray that the cancer was caught in time and that this will be the end of it.
