I just made reservations at POR for the 1st week of May. The CR said there was a AAA discount available for a std room @126/night. When she booked me, the rate (before tax) was $141/ night. Called back and different CR said same rate. Has this happened to anyone else? Also, do they keep a log of how many times you call? I feel a little silly calling everyday. Thanks - I have learned so much from all of you. This will be our first trip to WDW in 7 years!! We are very excited.

I was a little disappointed with my AAA rate as well... I only saved about $40 for 6 nights as compared to booking online.
Oh, well. $40 is $40.

I made my ressie on Friday thru Disney and used my AAA discount for PC and got the room for $84.00 a nite as opposed to $99.00. It is for room only. So the down side with this discount is you can not get the dining package or anything else. I'll buy my tickets seperate as well and still save the same amount.

I saved about $300 on a 6 night, 7 day hopper option with dining plan with my AAA discount, plus we get $25 disney dollars at check-in. Since the AAA discount is based on a percentage, it really adds up when staying at a deluxe (we are staying at the Poly), but that being said $40 seems low for a six night stay regardless of the property. Perhaps your AAA rate includes trip insurance? (Due to a class action lawsuit, Disney no longer automatically includes trip insurance in its on-line quotes.)

To the original poster, sorry got sidetracked on the $40 response. In general, I believe AAA should save you about 10-15% off rack rate. I typically view it as getting the room tax free. If your all-in quote is close to the listed rack rate (which does not include tax), then it is probably correct.

May is regular season so the AAA discount is 15% off. It's better than nothing! It pays the taxes. :)

Iansmom, it sounds like you didn't get a discount at all! For Pop in may it should be 15% off and for AKL it would be 10%. Did the website quote include tax? Sometimes even when you ask for an AAA discount they don't give it to you if it isn't available.

It's true that you can't add dining to an AAA room only reservation through Disney, but you can get a package with dining and a discount on the room if you go through AAA.

Call your local AAA and talk to one of the agents there. When they break down the package price it should be the discounted room rate + the tickets (same as disney) + the dining (same for everyone).

I saved $200 on a 5nt. stay, I've had pretty good luck with AAA. I book a package directly through them, room at Poly, and park hopper tix.

When I first started planning, I did go through the website all the way to 'give us your credit card number.' I did include travel insurance and taxes when comparing to my AAA rates.

Then I called my AAA person. She called me back the next day with a rate that was about $132 more than what I was able to get online. When I told her, "no, that sounds too high... I'll just book online," she was anxious to keep me on the line. She asked what my price was when booking online and I told her. Then she called Disney back to see if they could get a better rate.

It felt like I was talking with a salesperson at a car lot. Anyway, I felt as if I needed to book that day (1/31) so I could take advantage of the $25 disney dollars at check-in. And if I don't get a postcard/e-mail, at least I saved $40 (and with the $25 Disney Dollars it equals $75.)

I saved $180 on 6 night stay at Contemporary (10%). I added tickets and dining because we are 2 adults and 3 kids under 10.

It is good deal feeding each kid 2 meals and a snack for $10 a day!

Can anyone tell me what % discount if offered using an AAA/CAA discount for a value hotel during value season?

Thank you
Suzy V.

If rooms are available, the discount is 20% off.

We booked our 8 night CS package thru AAA in January. We got a small discount on the room, but we also got $25 Disney Dollars (a special just for booking in January), the AAA parking pass, plus the AAA shopping card that gives discounts at the Disney Store in DD plus dining discounts at DD too! Nice perks and a bit of a savings is better than nothing!
