Slow Leak in Aerobed--How do I find it?

We have a slow leak and I can't find it. I've tried to feel for the leak with no luck. It's not like I can put it in a sink of water like we used to do with old bike inner tubes. So how do I find it? I'm thinking that this shouldn't be so difficult, but the answer sure isn't coming to me.

Use a spray bottle of water with a little bit of soap. Lightly spray the entire surface and the soap should bubble up over the leak.

I'm assuming that you mean I should put a little liquid soap into the water, spray it on and then see if I can detect the leak? My first vision was rubbing it with bar soap... I must have had a confused look on my face when I was imagining that! Worth a try--thanks!

You could put it in a swimming pool.

How odd. My aerobed just started to have a slow leak about 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately ours wasn't a hole in the bed itself. The valve in the pump broke.

To see if what happened to mine happened to yours, inflate the bed. Then take out the pump. If you hear a leak from the part remaining, you have a problem. I called up aerobed. Since I couldn't produce a receipt they gave me a new bed for $60. Thats better than what I paid for it originally.

We had a slow leak, too. We learned of it when my mom ended up on the couch somewhere between bedtime and the morning. We're only in a one bedroom, so we couldn't offer her much better.

We took the whole thing back to BB&B. Now, granted, it was a year and 3 months old and we said it was 3, but... Although not honest, I was POed that we'd spent that much money and the thing was broken with light use and we cared for it. (ETA: We were able to exchage it for the same model)

If you can return it, you may just want to. Ours here didn't ask for a receipt or anything. I know we're fairly nearby and I could PM you the location if you wanted. There's even a Rita's nearby

I haven't had a chance to figure out the leak yet--will try tomorrow or more likely Thursday since I'm on the go a lot tomorrow. I was wondering if it possibly wasn't a leak in the bed itself.

We've had the bed for several years. Even though we've treated it well (I think) there's probably been enough changed on it that the store would get suspicious if we tried to return it. But now you've done it and mentioned Rita's!!!

bananiem, I could show up at the swim team raft night tomorrow with the aerobed--they'd really start to wonder about me!

Do you have any packing peanuts or anything light like that? Maybe you could spread them around the bed on the floor with someone laying on the bed and see if the air pushes them around? I don't know if that would work but it might?
