My vision is terrible and always has been. I wear contacts out in public (because I have big, thick Coke bottle glasses even with the new technology to make them thinner) and glasses at home. I wear glasses at home because I have an astigmatism that the contacts don't correct and I have to wear glasses for at least part of each day.
I wear glasses, but would love to be able to wear contacts. I have had contact 3 times now and between astigmatism and the strenght of the perscription, I can't wear them. The 1st time they (mom, dad, and Dr) put me in contacts I was 12. I has glassy, bloodshoot eyes the entire 7th grade. The guidance counselor even meet w/my parents on a possible drug problem. They wouldn't believe that was just contacts.
I have both glasses and contacts. I usually wear my glasses. Contacts I keep for dressing up, special occasions and such. My eyes are very dry and the contacts bother them.
I've worn glasses since 5th grade, but got contacts as soon as I saved up the money from my first job!
Most of my adult life I wore mainly contacts, and glasses only early in the morning or late at night. But in the last 5 years or so I've gotten to wearing glasses more and more. Now they are bifocals! I also have reading glasses that I wear with the contacts so I can read.
I have tri-focals, but need them more for reading at regular distance and reading music at arm's length. The distance prescription helps, but I can often get by without them.
I have a special pair of just the middle prescription that I use just for playing trumpet (the tri-focals blur towards the edge where I often need to see around the horn) and when I'm playing guitar or bass using a low show-type music stand (I have to bury my chin in my chest to get the middle prescription lined up with the tri-focals).
I've needed glasses since third grade, contacts since ninth. I'm nearsighted-I'm not one of those people who can just wear them for driving or school.
I eventually want to get LASIK, but not until I get my master's.
I wear both.
Usually I only wear my glasses just before I go to bed, and when I first wake up in the morning.
Sometimes I'll wear my glasses during the day(I love my new ones) if I'm tired and my eyes feel dry...and I'll often wear them on rainy days-because I don't get a glare then, nor do I need sunglasses those days. LOL
I wear contacts most of the time. My vision isn't that bad and has actually gotten better over the years (instead of worse). I do have a pair of glasses that are 4 years too old. I cannot wear those since the prescription has changed for the better. I really should get my lenses replaced So when I am out and about it is contacts for me. At home, I wear nothing
