What’s your opinion on Mandarin Oranges?

For Me - I love them, but they are another thing I can’t eat due to my Ulcerative Colitis.
Both of my girls have always loved them, so I buy them often to have in the fruit basket.

We like them. They will never be the first fruit gone in our house, nor a staple on my grocery list. But when I buy them, they are consumed.

Canned or otherwise, they are often in our house and eaten. DH enjoys them more than me.

Love them. Pick them right off the tree in my backyard. Well I did until the squirrels got the last couple.

They are edible. I will eat them but not something I would buy or have it be my first choice to eat.

Love them when they are in season. DH and I will eat 2-3 each per day so sometimes I buy 2 bags at a time.

We eat them all the time. I like to keep a bag of them in the house so when the kids ask for a snack I have something healthy to throw at them. I'll even have one or two when I'm feeling peckish.

Also, I usually have cans of them in the pantry for adding to orange Jello. Yum! Though it's not nearly as good as a can of peaches in cherry Jello..... that's like heaven.

Not big on orange anything (except mimosas). But don't hate the little cuties. Would eat one if it was there and I was wanting a snack. But wouldn't be my 1st choice. I used to buy them for kids' lunches. They liked mandarin oranges a lot. Cuties were good to take for softball tourney weekends too.

We like them but prefer California Navel oranges more. Those I could eat all day during the winter.

I have to hide them for my African Grey so they are there for him, too. The whole family would devour them in an evening if I didn't keep some for Joey.

Luckily, they respect the bird. 🦜

I don't like them. I buy them sometimes for the grand kids, but they don't seem to like them as much as they used to.
I prefer a navel orange

:lovestruc I love them, love, love, love them!! During my childhood they were a special treat only available at Christmas and were imported from Japan in little wooden crates and each orange was pristinely wrapped in red tissue paper. The smell alone is evocative of so many good memories! :goodvibes

Now they are available most of the year from China and the quality isn’t the same. I have taken to buying US mandarins/clementines instead but still mostly only do so in the winter.

You're absolutely right about the year round quality. I don't think my kids taste things, though... and they are young adults. That's why I buy them year round... and of course, for the bird. I eat them during citrus season.

I like them, but I wish they were sold in smaller packages. Around here, it seems like you have to buy a LOT of them and I usually end up throwing some away.
This is us as well. There are only two of us and hubby isn't a big fruit eater. He'll eat one or two then it's up to me. After a few days I get tired of them.

Cuties are grown right by me! I pass the orchards and plant whenever I head to the place I like to hike. I like fresh mandarin oranges, but I prefer naval oranges. The kids love mandarin oranges because they are so easy to peel.
