Bread machines are awesome, but I don’t think they are as popular as they were in the past. My grandma loved hers and baked everybody bread all the time. Then when I was engaged, I asked for one for my bridal shower (1995), and I got one - I used that thing to death, literally. I used that bread machine until it stopped working, but I never replaced it. I always wanted to, but decided that all the carbs, from all that bread, is something we should do without. I do miss the smell of fresh baked bread in the morning. I set it up the night before, set the timer, and the bread would be ready when I woke up. That smell has no words for how good it was. Give us your bready answer today…….

Have you ever owned a bread machine?
Do you have one now?
If yes….do you use it?
(multiple choice)

For Me……As I mentioned above, I used to have one, but never replaced it when it stopped working. I wish bread didn’t have so many carbs, because I really love it.

I have a bread machine and used it a lot in the past. In recent years we've cut back on carbs so I rarely use it anymore. I loved the fresh bread! I still make an occasional small loaf to go with something like beef stew.

I have one though haven't used it in a while because no matter how much I stick to the recipes, the bread is always dense and dry. Blech.

We had one when they first came out a long time ago. For me it's just easier to buy a loaf. :)

I received a bread machine as a gift. I never would have bought one. It makes a decent loaf of bread on a full cycle. But I seldom use it for anything other than pizza dough. It makes very nice pizza dough. :)

The main reason I don't use it more often is that really is too many carbs. My husband has diabetes, and my son is gluten-free, so that limits who is going to eat the bread. ;)

We never had a bread machine. And I don't think I've ever had bread from one either.

Had one way back when, and used it often. Nowadays I will occasionally make a fresh loaf out of frozen bread dough, husband is particularly fond of it. I'm rubbish at making bread (tried and tried and tried - both my grandmothers were great bakers - but it's a skill that has eluded me no matter how many bread books I buy  ) so the frozen dough is convenient!

I bought my parents one and they loved it. I was going to buy my own, but a coworker had one that she never used. So, she gave me hers. I just never got around to using it, so it was eventually donated.

I went through several bread machines before I found one that was reasonably priced and did a good job.

I went with this one as it made a larger 3lb dough and made a loaf in more of a bread shape - it was like $80 on sale.

I was initially buying it just to make pizza dough.

Bread - fresh bread has gotten really pricy the last few years:

Pretzel Rolls - there things are pretty expensive to buy at the shop. I make burger ones as well.

We had one years ago (it was a wedding present, so that goes back 27 years or so :o ), but we haven't had it in a long time now. I used to make a lot of bread in it, but to be honest, we just don't eat that much bread anymore.

Our DD has one. We get bread from her. But as others have said too good and will eat too much. We see her about every 6-8 weeks and she will bring 6-8 loaves. One stays out, rest in the freezer. Usually run out a week or so before we see her again. That's our toast in the morning.

We do buy sandwich bread for sandwiches, yup, we are brilliant.

No, I’ve never owned or used a bread machine. Years ago, I used to occasionally make homemade bread with my mom. We would mix and knead the dough by hand, let it rise, and make braided loaves. Very therapeutic.

I had one that I got as a Christmas present one year (long time ago) after dropping not-so-subtle hints about wanting one for months beforehand. I really thought I was Caroline Ingalls and I was going to make all the bread for the family like I was out on the prairie in the olden days. I used it once, I'm sad to say, and then it went on a shelf in the basement until I sold it at a church flea market. So endeth my days as a pioneer woman.

We had an old Panasonic machine for 25 or more years. It was a 1-lb machine with few bells/whistles. We loved it while the kids were growing up -- I'd use the timer function in the morning to have fresh bread for dinner.

Gave it away several years ago because of counter space limits. Now that we have a bigger kitchen with more counter space, maybe I'll start looking into what's available now.

Have had one since they came out. Think I am on #3 but I've had a long time. Makes bigger loaves and my most common use these days is it makes TWO pizza crusts.

Used to bake bread several times a week (DS loved the raisin bread) and pizza weekly. I recently moved it from depth of cabinet to the counter and need to get it rolling. My Aldi unhealthy white bread went from 50 cents to 79 cents a loaf so its time. Can't afford the good bread. Since we expect 10" of rain this weekend might be a good time to fill the house with the good smells! and get back with it.

DECADES ago we gave Grandpa a machine to make it easy and he ended up baking about 6 loaves a day and giving them to people. Became his hobby, too cute.

Given me some kick in the rear to get more creative!! LOVE all these. DS will be very happy with pretzel rolls.

My mom used to have one when I was a kid that made a round loaf. She was into it for a while.

Did anyone ever have a Bread-Maker-Maker?

There are three bread machines sitting in my garage -- mine and two that I inherited when my mother and mother-in-law passed away. I used mine once or twice but decided it wasn't worth the time and hassle. I can buy delicious bread in my local bakery or at AJ's.

I use it in the winter. Most of the time, I use it for pizza dough so I can make white pizza (cottage cheese, onion, garlic and olive oil). I will make loaves of bread usually being pepper dill. It's fantastic with seafood gumbo.
